I was laid off in March. Just received FedEx today from HR informing me of a job I may be interested in. I think it was Hub related. Why send a FedEx? Also why hire someone when you are laying off others. Makes no sense to me. Allscripts please note: laying off people in midst of COVID-19 when times are tough is not the best strategy. Why would someone want to go back to the company that laid them off after almost 10 years of dedicated hard work, overtime, and dealing high stress environment. While others were leaving Allscripts I stayed. The thanks was getting laid off. In the future I would try to identify who the strong assets are before laying them off, rather than asking them back a few months later. Experience counts. It is expensive to hire and train talent. Maybe the cost savings of workforce reduction is not as great as you hoped when you factor in lost productivity, morale impact, loss of knowledge, and reputation decrease.

You would think that a recruiter would at least contact you via phone to see if you were interested. Even better would be the hiring manager.
So they sent you a FedEx with a job offer before speaking to you in person to see if you were interested? That was very presumptuous and unprofessional to say the least.
Re: Post ID: @1lov+16vLYvdP - that may be true but it does not make it right in the minds of our customers or to longterm employees that have given so many years of their lives to this company.
Last time I checked your Rd leadership was led by none development people. The absolute miss understanding and execution of a DEVOPS process is an issue. Yes it is way cheaper to ship development overseas and still be able to fix all the issues. And show good value... But using your client base as your testing environments is irresponsible... End of story.
A lot of the posts here demonstrate a lack of awareness about what's been going on in the tech market for a long while. It's not unreasonable to point out a degree of incompetence on the part of executives (particularly LK, imo).
But a lot of what we're seeing, particularly with off-shoring and then having to fix the garbage we get back, is consistent with what other multi-nationals are seeing (and also ignoring). So it's not just OUR executives.
The advice given by @icj+16vLYvdP is probably the best given how long you've been off work. Employers prefer hiring currently employed workers. But it all depends on how your finances are holding up, if you're getting help from the government, etc. Keep all of that in mind, as well as what a loathsome employer can be, while making your decision.
The company is trash. If they hire you back it’s only until they can train some cheap overseas labor If you don’t have a job I would take it and do just the minimal. It is only a matter of time before PB and LK destroy the remaining company. The company revenue has already decreased by 50% since PB took over.
Our Sales Mgr actually said we are less risky than others, so trust us. That's our new montra. Value is gone and even our Managers don't believe in what we deliver. It's hard to stay motivated when you don't believe in your Company anymore.
Allsh_ ts is too arrogant to see the big picture. The workerbees are just a means to an end and should be grateful they received a Fed Ex package after being deemed unnecessary. Evidently they couldn't find any cheap labor from India to fill your shoes. That's what happens when you blindly let an outside consultant call the shots. If you decide to go back, you should demand higher pay. Clearly they realize they screwed up if they're inviting you back. If RP, LK, and PB can't run a company without hiring consultants then maybe they shouldn't be running a Company.
A better question is... What good is a used-up company like Allscripts, and why would anyone want to conduct any type of business with them given their history and risks? Is the selling point, we are less risky than others so trust us?
The incompetence has run vertical and horizontal in allscripts for a decade. Meaning more then PB. The hub is another poorly designed and managed POS. If you have not found a job ... Take it for now but NEVER martyr yourself for Allscripts. If you go back. Continue pounding the job market...continue to Network... Use Allscripts. It's not a career..
This story just tells us how badly Allshits is managed and screwed up by PB.
