Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

What did you learn from Robin’s town hall today?

I learned absolutely nothing except for continuous cost cutting.

His name should be Robin, the hack man, not the slayer. Over the years that he has worked he’s probably fired more people at Shell than currently work now. Did anyone at the beginning of the meeting catch the joke that he said pretty out of context and out of touch didn’t hurt my feelings but him basically saying something to the effect of oh no, don’t worry the discussion were gonna have is y’all are not all fired, then he kind of snickered. Move over old devil there is a new devil running for ruler of he-l.

I learned nothing from the town hall because I didn’t go. 😇

Three years no layoffs? The catalyst business will be sold in a year or two.

Robin has fired people the end. A lot of people. Just remember that he only cares about his bonus. And it’s millions more than we will ever earn.

No more layoffs for three years 😂.
From the person that has sacked more people than anyone in shell. Must be a joke surely.
Remember folks, these layoffs have been at the TOP of the oil market! Just wait for the next down turn to see some proper old school oil field layoffs!

absolutely not lol. what the senior leaders have been saying is no global reorg for 3 years.

if you have half a brain you know that some layoffs are still gonna happen in the business line level. such as the P&T changes and C&P.

i’m sad to see that anyone buys into their weasel words. but i suppose if some people didn’t fall for it they wouldn’t do it. “a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet”. just because it’s not literally called “reshape” doesn’t mean that it isn’t one. they actually change the name of it every time they do one by the way. always have.

Oh he and his stooge Shirley Yap made their disgraceful careers (will confess though they reached great heights) out of divestments and great white lies. NEVER work for them or believe ANYTHING they say. Disgraceful leaders

On the positive side, no more layoffs for at least 3 years.

That dude has no charisma. He always su-ks all the energy in the room every time he talks.

Robin is the biggest business talker I have ever seen

meaning you could probably listen to the guy for two hours and get no information out of him because he only speaks in corporate buzzword slop designed to fill time and vibe as vaguely positive

highest waste of time possible in the company

dude will talk about an apple headset and offshore floating wind and act like we’re bleeding edge when it’s amounted to nothing and already all cancelled anyway

It was very tone deaf to me. Really once they started talking about all the great technologies we are working on when we know none of them will make it to scale so again it is a waster of money. It just seemed like a bunch of look at how great we are and what we are doing but you all won’t come along for that ride.

Don't let Executives have leverage over you. Cut your personal expenses so low that any job will allow you to pay your bills. Shell employees are in a great situation because we get paid well. SAVE, INVEST, CUT PERSONAL EXPENSES.

He led C+P as the EVP before moving to P&T. Now C+P is being divested. Coincidence? Only if you do not believe in patterns. A case study of the reverse Midas touch.
