So I was manually counting around in Teams Org chart and found out we have 200 contractors in A&bc itself.
My personal team has 10 contractors and my boss told me we need to get rid of them by January and they cost us 2.5 million a year.
I hope the 5k layoffs include these confirmed contractor count reductions instead of over-destroying FTEs
Our org let go lot of consultants in the last 2 months
From what I have been seeing, they are hiring left and right in A&BC. I see a minimum of 1 or 2 welcomes emails every month. Most teams are already short staffed because they couldn’t backfill many positions because of hiring freeze. We are already feeling the burnout since last few months.
Some outside vendors aren't paid if they don't meet quotas. I doubt the 5k reference includes vendors or contractors.

Interesting. Wonder how A&bc will survive the pressure of losing FTEs now and then contractors in December
the 5,000 is FTEs only -- they didn't include the contractors in the count. that doesn't mean they aren't letting a lot of contractors go -- they just didn't include them in the count. many--maybe even most--will definitely be let go. in other words, it's gonna be higher than 5K.

Her email specifically mentions the company’s need to minimize the use of contractors and vendors.
While there are arguments both for and against the contractors being included in the 5k, I do hope they are included.
They cost us a lot and the reason we keep them around is because we do need them.
To get rid of them would overload teams anyway and on top of that if we lose engineers/scientists as part of this 5k, several teams will be crippled.
CVS also uses third party companies to do call center work. TTEC is one of them

Most A&BC contractors will be let go by EOY / no renewal of contracts
Objective 1 was eliminate contractors and outside vendors . So yes
