@jd maybe if they would stop turning patients away and actually filling up their schedules. They wouldn’t have this problem but when they’re only seeing 10 patients a day and referring out for everything there’s no way they’re gonna be profitable. WellMed used to be the patient’s home for medical care now they just form amount. The doctors don’t wanna actually work anymore.

I know someone who is on PTO tomorrow and was told she had to come in to a mandatory meeting in person

I know from experience that under OT, they’ll send a 15 to 20 minute meeting request a couple hours ahead of time. It’ll have some kind of generic touch base/1:1 title. That’s usually a good indicator that you’re on the chopping block.

@jb you might want to read up on rare earth metals and the BRICS developing an exchange for it….things are about to change, they control ~72% of the worlds reserves.

@jb the US economy for the non-elite has been on a downward slide far before the current president. The deficit/decline was projected by Triffin in the 1960s. The situation in the US was forecasted; however, it took much longer. Many believed modern monetary policy helped the USD avoid the Dutch Disease: time is showing that to be false. It would be great if it was just ‘political’ but it’s not, it’s far more serious- it’s structural.

@hf
One thing I can say from 18 years here as a 30 and a 31 ... The layoff emails in our part of OT NEVER went out this early. They were sent very early in the morning on the day of.

That's just my experience so take it for what it's worth

@fp it has to happen, the global economy is forcing it, and yes it’s going to get really bad here in the states. Most businesses are choosing to ignore it hoping the world will continue the bail/bubble/bust cycle. It’s why there is a rise in social unrest - we have mass miss allocation of resources.

Specifically for the US, it got lazy/greedy and outsourced way too much. The only way businesses know how to profit is currency spread, tax tricks and leveraging no/low regulation countries whether they acknowledge it or not. That’s not innovation it’s cheating. The government allowed it because of the taxes paid on capital gains accounts for a large portion of the total taxes collected.

I suspect, my guess I have no proof, a digital currency based on gold and dollar is on the horizon. I also suspect the shutdown is on purpose, financial markets are not good, repo/sofr flashing red. The fed is out of tricks.
