Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

I wonder if working under the fear of layoff every single day is even worth it!

I see the quality of work dropped drastically even from those who used to give excellent work. Morale is low! This is what happens when the management is incompetent. Morale goes to -ve in the teams as soon as there is an intervention from neustar.

@hr wow that is great, 3 offers in this job market. I was laid off in Nov 24 and haven't received any offers, but 44 rejections emails.

It's not, and don't wait for it to happen to you. Assume when not if. If not already, start applying, etc. Tail end of last year seemed like a tough market but hiring always picked up in Feb and I am seeing a LOT of traction. 4 offers in the last 30 days.

TU company values don’t align with anything or anyone anymore. It’s heartbreaking what the board allows.

@bz: Thanks for sharing your story. So sorry that happened to you. I'm sure many of the remaining rest of us still at TU are going to suffer a similar fate. I have given more than 10 years hard stressful labor and I fear that March will be the end of my story. All of the good and extremely talented people I used to work with are now gone from layoffs over the last few years. And all of their old work got dumped on myself and the overseas people who are being paid much less and can't seem to even figure out how to do their actual jobs. They get stuck on something and don't even try to figure it out, they just dump their problems on someone like me who has been around a while to solve their problems for them. Another thing I hate is that CC, VA and others keep sending company communications out that praise how we are continuing to grow, and how we made tons of money last year, and are successful at every turn. It's all lies. Makes me sick.

Perhaps we should band together and talk to some business journalists who might share our stories with the public? I've got lots of stories of specific things this company has done to me directly that guarantee would blow some minds. This is a public anonymous forum with a small audience, but I wish more people, companies that do business with TU, and investors, could see some of the things we've been through and are continuing to go through, how we are treated, and the BS that gets sp-t out of the mouths of executives who get paid huge amounts while they pile the work on us that we can't even keep up with nor ethically run this company.

OP—you nailed it on the head. We are all disenfranchised. It’s very hard to work with the Sword of Damocles hanging over our heads.

@OP You have no control over layoffs. Its happening US wide. New strategy for companies do more with less. If you get laid off, they will say your job was no longer needed but the work you did will just be assigned to someone else. Corporate lies. I was laid off, said my position was no longer needed however my team still remained intact and they got my work. Soon they would all reach there demise with the TransUnion. The VP told everyone a lie and said there would be no more layoffs after my layoff along with a few hundred. I had no idea I was getting cut. My job was no longer available but when did that happen? because I worked the night previous night until 2 am and had a call with my director and HR at 10 am saying I was laid off. No two week notice, nothing. My access was being cut off during the phone call. I was corporate trash, invested 20 plus years in a company that I loved working for and blindsided. Worked with many smart people and those people cared about there roles and kept the lights on.

So is it worth it? I invested many nights, weekends doing the project work, working with TUs customers thinking I made the difference. Followed those values that we are reviewed upon and got kicked out on my a-s.
