Optum tech here. The amount of AI cr-p being posted in chats or through email by managers is ridiculous. Be a leader not a product of a computer because you are graded on using it. My message to tech execs. You will always be a great asset and daily worker using AI daily but you will innovate and lead by not using AI. Feels just like the cloud last year which wasted everyone’s time.

This is very typical of this company over the years. We've had this "one size fits all" mentality for as long as I've been here (which is awhile) and over that time it's been:
Everybody do Six Sigma!
Everybody do Kanban!
Everybody do Agile!
Everybody do Blockchain!
Everybody do Cloud!
Everybody do AI!
There is no thought as to whether the right tool is being applied to the problem. These kind of edicts launch those who wish to ingratiate themselves to management into producing the wrong solutions (or fake solutions) just to say they did it. "I'm a hero, now where's my raise and promotion!?!" I think it happens because the company is at an unmanageable size and they simply can't expend the effort to tailor proper solutions to the actual problems......so everybody just do it!!!! What could possibly go wrong?

@a5 he’s an extremely low IQ, low empathy, low adaptability personality type to begin with per Myers-Briggs AI based analysis.
Yeah, it is mildly helpful when programming to get boilerplate code written or when learning something new especially by giving examples. However, they are mandating everyone in Optum tech build AI solutions including people with no technical background like support staff and scrum masters. Why? The product I work on has almost no use case where AI could enhance it yet if I don’t work on AI related tasks the most my manager said I can get on my review is a 3. This is ridiculous. I use the right tool for the right job. I would never mandate projects use a specific database or language because they all have their pros and cons. I feel like this heavy handed mandate to shove AI where it doesn’t belong will backfire immensely.
