Aerospace Furloughs Memo (July 2020)

Original text below, anyhow: unpaid weeks off and pay reduction.

Dear Colleague:

Because it is necessary to execute further cost reductions that are commensurate with deteriorating economic conditions, we have made the difficult decision to implement three weeks of furlough beginning July 27, which will be implemented as follows:

  • Employees will be required to take three unpaid weeks off, on a schedule determined by their business or function’s leadership, during which time they will not be allowed to work. You will be informed Wednesday what schedule you are on.
  • E-Bands have a 10% pay reduction through the end of the year (the equivalent of 7.5% on an annualized basis) while working on a regular schedule to ensure the continuity of our operations. In addition, E-bands can anticipate significant reductions in their variable pay, which will greatly impact their total compensation.
  • Each of our businesses, the Integrated Supply Chain, and Aero support functions, will implement plans that will vary slightly but with similar impact in terms of time off and cost reduction.
  • Additional furlough process and procedure details will be communicated in the coming days.

As stated before, there can be no guarantee that additional actions will not be required in the future. Decisions on further actions will depend on whether our markets improve.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and please go f— yourselves, collectively.

Mike Madsen

President & CEO, Aerospace

Notice this time around they are calling it what it is...a furlough, instead of calling it "unpaid leave", which no doubt some HR Karens came up with...LOL

53 hrs a week every week is what it takes to deliver on time today. Furlough the people on DX rated programs and you are in a contract breach situation.

It'll be surprising if someone doesn't snap with all this ALT induced stress. Seen it happen plenty of times before.

RevCog workers are not being protected from the furlough: they are being encouraged to work 53.33 hours a week to deliver on time. This is EEI cranked up to 11.

Q2 numbers are gonna be great! EPS up, dividend likely increased. Hon is in the business of pumping up its stock and fooling Wall St. at all costs.

$HON should be under $100 a share. Selling at $155 is a gift from God. Look at what happened to $GE stock.

The same id–ts that claim this is a fake email, are the same scum that have backed the company repeatedly on EVERYTHING that has come True! This site is infested like RATS with HON managers, HON HR pricks, and legacy PP s—ers that enjoy backing their managers, directors VP's that and a-hole Prez that is still there! They jerk all of you around, and enjoy doing it. A 2 week furlough, RIF#1 (largest), RIF#2(Large), RIF#3(small and stealth), RIF#4 (medium and stealth, just eliminated whole departments).....now....a three week furlough...and highly probable RIF#5 and RIF#6 coming by end of the year. Look for more vacation freezes, look for the 401K for 2020 to "move" to sometime next year before the 12/15 maturity date, and any other torture that they can think of? How do you boil a frog? One degree at a time. You are being boiled, slowly, and those still in this terrible, TERRIBLE company, are too fearful to JUMP and get out, so they sit, and wonder why they are being boiled alive. WAKE UP !

This also raises a big question about the 2nd quarter performance number. The immediate question is should I sell HON stocks before the quarterly results are announced.

It's clear that the ALT is so short sighted to current economic conditions that they felt they needed to implement 2 large RIFS (40% of the non-production workforce) and now a furlough with (finally) an executive level pay cut. Years of poor execution leading to overly drastic actions. Tactically, this group couldn't make their way out of a paper bag and are as short sighted and blind as a Star Nosed Mole (ugly little creatures, too, those moles).

It's not fake or sarcastic. It's legit. Read your email. Honeywell is late paying suppliers, so they can't get material. That combined with non-stop RIF's and furloughs good luck getting product out the door. The bean counters don't see that part though. They are saving cash today, regardless of what it does tomorrow. They've RIF'd one person after another that brought in millions more than their paychecks and all that will stop too. Obviously, this is not a company that is able to keep their heads above water.

Yup thats the memo i got.
Better tell any paying customers you have left that we will be six weeks late.
They probably will "protect" the revcog workers but those people cant get work done without the rest of the business. Can't order, can't release, can't receive parts.
So sick of this B.S.
eventually i will have another job and will ghost this place the last weekend of the quarter.
Hoping to be a dcma so i can make life hell for honeywell on government dime.
