Thread regarding Five9 Inc. layoffs

Run if your company has an active channel on TheLayoff

Before the inaugural layoff, there were two posts on TheLayoff for Five9. It's obvious that if there is an active board for your company on this website, run. No one is here for sunshine and ponies.

Employee surveys are abysmal because of everything posted here. Spectacularly bad leadership by one-man-band Mike B and his host of incompetent friends and family hires. There's the conveyor belt of dippy and incompetent product leadership. The living HR violation CMO (Mike's brown-nosed buddy). The vain, thin-skinned CPO of AI proudly bringing 2-year-old capabilities to market. The incompetent-godson sales leader who couldn't drive himself back from oblivion to a gifted VP role (Pater flew across America to drive him home). Then there is the host of talentless, unqualified bit player friends and friends' kids who create messes for everyone else to fix.

Then there's the hand-picked board of directors who do nothing. Even the activist investors aren't acting much.

What do they all have in common? They'll all be fired when the place is sold walking away minted.

@hk The sad part is before Mike came back. It was a wonderful culture and everybody liked being here. Now it's become toxic and I don't know anybody who's planning on staying everybody's either leaving or waiting for a better offer so they can go.

Already, you can see folks quietly making an exit! You don't have to put up with Five9's toxic culture, and they will most likely drop you either way when it suits them.

How do we as employees tackle this? Do we demand a worker director?

I think if we surveyed the business anonymously tomorrow, and put it to a vote half of us would expel the Burklands and their family/friend hires as incompetent. How do we actually make the board due its fiduciary duty?

The only turn-around, the only efficiency that can be made, is the removal of the nepo-hires and to bring in a new CEO. At this point, beg Rowan to come back with a pay raise!
