You might be at the cap. All positions have a salary cap you can find at the ADP site. If you're not at the cap you should probably say something because I've had a raise (small ones, to be sure) every year for the past 5 years.

You need to move to another company mate.

so as managers, have you expressed this to your teams, because if you don't, it looks like your fault.

Re the comment “It's basically managers that don't know how to manage”.Poster @1nnx+1r3H29Be

You have no f* idea. Being a manager in Dell is a thankless role. EVERY year that I have done pay planning and allocated merit and bonus (within all the system parameters) to my team a higher level executive (VP /SVP - not even my own director!) has changed what I awarded my team. They don’t even know my team personally.

So, as a manger I award my teams performance then my decision is overwritten by 2 levels above me. What’s the point of being a manager in this company??

This happens to all managers in my org (I.e. not just me)

In the same boat.
Just to keep up with inflation I should be on 10k more minimum.
Also Steve Young saying we need to do better is a fu--ing insult.
How about fu-k you Steve Young.

Not normal. The top end of the pay band generally increases every year. It certainly would within 3 years.

happened to me before and yes, I was told I was at the top of the band. I contacted HR to see what the pay bands were and of course they would not tell me. I was told by a senior leader that I was not at the high end of the band and there was room. He caught wind that I was getting ready to give my notice since there was nothing left for me. So what gives then, my review was great. Come to find out, when you're only given a bit of money to divide between the group, some managers feel like if you got a good raise a year before and someone else didn't, they tend to swap the next year where you get less or nothing and others get more. I guess it's a way to keep everyone happy. It's basically managers that don't know how to manage.

There is price bands and you may be seating at the edge
Managers are advised to have people pay at similar level based on their title and geo - that means if you were in NYC with 200k and moved to Montana - you won't see salary increase in long time

however moving from Montana to NYC should get you increase every single year

No, not normal. I have been at Dell for a looong time in multiple departments and have gotten a raise every year. Sometimes it was a cr-ppy one, but always a raise. Now, if for some reason you are already above the max pay for your pay grade, then I can understand it. But then it's on you to move to a role with a higher pay grade if you want a raise.

You may be redlined, meaning you make more than the high amount of your current pay band. Until the pay band goes above what you make you are stuck getting a pat on the back each year.

Bad enough I didn't get a inflation adjustment.
but to also get a stern lecture from a grumpy anon

This really isn't about the company, is it? If you want a raise and didn't get it, will it take you three years to come here and ask if it's normal?
No it's not. It never was. Inflation is a real thing and if you don't get a raise, you are effectively getting a pay cut.

Could be normal depending where you are located. Life of Dell.
