No one can do anything for hiring managers have already made up their mind and pre-identified the candidates to onboard. Even for the internship, all the managers and directors onboard their kids starting from freshman to final year and kids 25 grand every year and do nothing in Cisco. It is a bigger mafia

@h7 If they are blue badge employees, they cannot be half the cost. Base salaries cannot be below MRR zone 1. If they are red-badges, that is a different story. But being paid half the cost (from Cisco, not their agency) is also highly questionable. That is exploitation.
Nonetheless, I agree that there's no reason to bash a specific race. But also cannot discount the fact that it is not uncommon (even outside of Cisco), that they tend to hire their own.
There is a number you can call to report of any perceived corruption. It is conducted by a 3rd-party. It is not illegal to hire a family member, but it needs to have an approval -- and must be disclosed, for sure.
If there's an LR and an equivalent position is opened offshore, you can call the labor department to report it.

For Cisco, that part is easy. As long as there is a Cisco, either free standing or as an acquired entity under a larger company, there will be layoffs.
In the broader world, not until some catastrophic change occurs that alters the fundamental nature of many societies. In the US 70%-85% of hires are done through personal or professional relationships. Layoffs have been a standard in US industry since the first half of the 1980s which is over 40 years ago - longer than most of you will have a professional career.
I don't understand why these widely published facts elude so many at Cisco.
It is all network that leaders pull from their network, family and friends. In such a bad job market why the he-l someone wants to go by pure merit. Cisco is known for nepotism and managers making from vendors on hourly cut.
Why there is no cleanup and headcount ROI ? A lady laid off in November is back in Director position. If you have to rehire then why fire ? It is all orchestrated and planned

For many years we had AA against white male when white male was the majority in high tech. That is no longer the case. Now we need AA against the immigrants and local residents from one single country that have occupied high tech and favor their own kind. This single country majority has converted high tech to a third world country with corruption and favoritism.
That is why we need to have diversity in high tech to stop the majority of becoming bigger and bigger and we need a labor law to enforce the diversity.
