It was always interesting meeting a new manager. Then his wife. And sometimes his kid as well.
All on the same team.
Happened more than once. Seemed to be a unique characteristic of one particular culture.

@gxe great post. The Type A employees that give a damn and want to pull everyone along are the ones that are the outliers and the ones that suffer. You need to be a bit rough and direct if you want to succeed. This every time su-king uo and yes man attitude is the reason for the demise

Actual engineering is definitely the absolute bottom of the totem pole at this shithole. Nobody in there right mind is going to put in effort anymore or stick around.
I truly think the next ceo needs to bring in a whole new HR leadership team to drive the new needed culture and talent acquisition and retention. The HR leadership is a colossal failure.
That's only a part of it... Nepotism has been more pronounced these past 8 - 10 years. Intel HR effectively ruined the company over 2 decades. Think, old FOCAL process removes 5% - 10% of the low performing employees year after year. If that model worked, Intel should have the absolute sharpest employees worldwide... Clearly Intel does not. Intel got rid of the employees that made the company great - maybe they were a bit "rough around the edges" or too open and direct, but the passionate Type A employees that cared about doing truly GREAT work are long gone working elsewhere. Intel will NEVER recover - from the terrible incompetent Board right on down to the Grade level 5s... Intel no longer has what it takes to win.
I wish Intel the best. GLTA.
