@1kgg+1quviQap what are you talking about… regionals have nothing to do with tips presentations. You must have really jad a cow when we had district merchants and planners.
You clearly have no idea what each role in the company is responsible for.

If Macy's had competent store leaders they wouldn't need all the regional positions.
We don't need a group of regional people walking around pointing fingers. We need more frontline people to perform the work that the stores know needs to be done.
If a store leader is competent they should be able to execute a business plan without the need of all these regional, district execs.

Or have the do nothing regional
People work in a problem store.
Let them learn what it is like to work in a store with no help.

This company has always been top heavy.with management.

People who took retirement are probably forced to take the option. Do you really think those making millions a year would take retirement. They work, eat and sleep for macys. They will not loose millions of dollars a year. I think they were forced to take retirement option or demotion and or a cut in their position.
Big changes always happen 2 weeks before the year end of retail which is January. You will hear more about regional changes as getting close to 2 weeks. They give them two weeks time frame before they leave.
This is only just a start to the end.

@xnw+1quviQap eliminate all regionals? So you think no one should run the company?

They should eliminate all of the regional positions. All of the ridiculous store visits are a waste of resources. We need more people to serve the customers and not walk around pointing out the obvious.

Sometimes retirements like this align with a major change in management because they are set to retire soon and don’t want to be part of a new regime. It’s not always as sinister as everyone thinks. Hopefully they chose this and got good pay outs and good people will get their changes to take their place

@gwa+1quviQap: So you suggest you know about upcoming alignments. Then should we assume you know what they are? Do tell!
