Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Big layoff coming to USA

Big layoff coming to the USA with high PIP targets and low PIP passing rates. OPERATIONS ROLES WILL BE HIT HARD but no groups will be spared. Time to look for next role and have a plan B

@rq

exactly correct. an entire generation of boomers moved into upper management and never took on protégés, mentees, or in any way passed the torch which was what was done for them and traditional for all of american business history.

they hold on to power by making products and labor worse over producing value, their best ideas long behind them just like their understanding of the world

remember this the next time to hear a s-b story about “nobody wanting to work anymore”.

or about a small shop owner whose business or trade will die with their retirement. what that actually
means is that they never took on a mentee. they probably bought their storefront land for cheap to make it affordable to operate without rent but aren’t willing to sell the land with the store because the plan is to retire as a land lord

the whole generation is full of this special breed of arrogance anywhere in which you see them leading, not just large corporations. they will burn institutions to the ground and die in their positions rather than yield on any issue. it’s all just about cashing out.

@gw Then quit. If you’re that good you should already have a job lined-up.

Or…

Maybe you’re not that much better than the people you’re “fixing” and you keep tanking interviews because all you know how to do is look busy at a large oil company. Don’t like being told that, do you?

@af U mad at the wrong people bruh.

It’s the rich old white MFs who gave your jobs away to fluff their bonuses and appease investors. Blaming the people taking a job to survive makes zero sense.

Question: why does nobody on this board ever direct their vitriol to the executives setting the policies? Do you people have some weird form of Stockholm syndrome? Or maybe you’re just racists? Both? Please explain.

The Global Projects forum was very clear. EM is determined to increase the use of employees on 1/10th salary, no matter how much of their work requires correction.

Ironically EM is PIP firing the correctors.

In the future, this combination will be labeled a Root Cause. Like cutting more holes in the Swiss Cheese safety barriers every time PIP season comes around.

The merge of up/down stream will take 10 yrs to recover from. If you stay. Hate to lose the check but this has gone beyond being a job.

Thanks to the VP who said we need to make the pips harder too many employees are passing. He wants a 90 percent fail rate. His initials are MZ and he is a real tu-d. Another VP tu-d is LW. Both these animals led to my demise and piping. Several other of my colleagues were targeted by these two a holes.
