I'm more curious than anything else but otherwise dgaf what it is. I just keep hearing about "the project" and found out it's called "xyzzz." I heard from a bird that it's something cloud based and, i know what the project is called but, won't say as idk who comes on this site and supposedly, this is NDA - which I am not part of. That's about all I know but, am curious if anybody knows WHAT it's about?

NDA is no longer valid if you are laid off or quit, it only applies during the contract duration, otherwise they will have to compensate you for keeping NDA outside company (called golden parachute)
@jx lol yes, it literally is on NDA... I know this for 100%. It's just not a very well kept "secret" like they were wanting it to be but, it absolutely is under NDA.
Obscure 90s technology replacing cutting edge just to fire few IT guys, that's all about it.
Next shiny object going into 2026
@OP the Oracle Mav project??? This isn’t on nda but will be impactful when MS starts selling off the co. At least my view.its industry standard.
@a7 I was laid off in Hopkinton recently and am still under NDA so won't say much...
i'm quite certain this won't result in layoffs, actually. Certain things dell uses are just going up in the sky where rain comes from (hint,) rather than where lightning comes from (hint) and no AI is being utilized in this nor, is AI going to be used.
Either way, the entire thing is still being developed and only in the testing stage and it's shy a month of when it started. Long story short, it's nowhere near finished and the way dell moves, it won't be until 2030 lol. That's all I'll say.
@a6 I am under NDA and I won't say what it is. I will say that chatgpt will tell you everything, though. Someone here already mentioned what the NDA is called so, use that codename and go at it!
@gt ISG= Indian Storage Grpup?
maverick
?
@ax Not AI. Contractors and cloud. Aka Artificial Indians.
just ChatGPT 'project maverick at dell'
I don't know what any project might be, but commercial off the shelf solutions have always struggled at Dell with it's highly complex supply chain and support structures. all the ones I've seen implement have had to get so greatly customized that it would have been far cheaper to go full custom, and with AI, that's easy, cots is a dinosaur, months away from a few prompts to make them irrelevant. I imagine the big players like Oracle, SAP, Alation, CA, etc are scared of being replaced, they should be. the competitive advantage is the supply chain efficiency and knowledge.. but the knowledge is mostly gone now.. so enjoy the show
If you ask ChatGPT or Perplexity -they will tell you
Talk to me Goose!
Gotta be using AI to reduce human workforce. As simple as that.
Ha, just go chatgtp it. It knows.
Dell is working very closely with the navy to install dell ai on attack submarines. The idea is the ai takes control of several subs, analyzes sea currents and has the subs circle a Chinese vessel in such a way it creates a whirlpool strong enough to sink it. Supposedly this tactic can worknon ships as large as a nimitz class aircraft carrier.
If it's a Dell project = more layoffs to make Wall Street happy.
Come on, you are not under an NDA. Tell us.
