Thread regarding Optum layoffs

On coming layoffs, both soft and official

I'm a little concerned about the critical thinking skills of the rank and file around here. Leaders, sure, but that's more a sociopathic lack of empathy, but people on here?

Yes, any formal layoff in July was in the works before BBB. That said, SLT/ELT knew it was coming.

What seems difficult for people to understand is that RTO IS A SOFT LAYOFF. Doesn't need to be planned, can be implemented on a whim like the two weeks MN/DC got. Forcing people back to the office IS A LAYOFF with more steps.

So, yes. We will have unofficial layoffs (RTO after Labor Day) and likely official layoffs tied to earnings.

Bumping this up for visibility. OP: @aq+1jzmzs8k2

@gt no! There’s been no official RTO announcement for telecommuters, just people speculating.

Labor Day is the RTO date for telecommute as well?

@b8 two weeks is the typical notice period. Your direct manager finds out no more than a week before the notice date. HR makes a list of victims based on some criteria (because they are lazy and see us as cattle and it's easier to grade beef than it is to find out how good of a fit the cow is within the herd) and shares it with SLT and their directs sometime before that. SLT gives the list a lazy glance, if any attention at all, and then lets the middle managers do the dirty work.

@OP A LITTLE concerned??? What critical thinking skills do they have at all? This is about money. It always has been and unless there is a massive cleanup of the problem up top, it will always be about money and greed. Karma people. And for those of you at the top who are reading these posts, don't forget that you are going to meet the same people you mistreated on your way up when you're on your way down. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Everybody gets what they deserve sooner or later. In your case, I hope it's sooner rather than later. We deserve a lot better than you.
