When layoffs start, will we be offered severance? I've been reading about other acquisitions, and it’s not a given that employees from the acquired company will receive any kind of package, which is making me panic a bit.

Unfortunately that will not matter.
Severance is dependent on where you work as well. Employment law varies across countries, EMEA will be different to USA etc. Local employment law and policies will dictate the Severance. One consistent item will be that Severance will be capped.
Below grade 11, severance is 3 or 4 months, depending entirely on length of service. Don’t quote me on it but I think the line is 7 years.
Just wait until HPE realises that more than half of us are members of unions that provide free employment lawyers.
@gs
Those top performers were offered retention bonuses when the acquisition was announced. Not many, but a good handful. Probably they will be in the first group of offers. Doubt anyone else would be given an incentive bonus now. Hopefully, some of the dead weight will be culled now.
of course there would be severance. otherwise you'd pay through the nose and employment lawyers would make a ki-ling. all these doom visions are not realistic.
current word is severance would be based on length of employment and such. otoh if you are a top performer you may get an extra incentive to stay if you commit for a few years. it's always like that with acquisitions.
That WARN must have been for HPE’s March layoffs
@f7 HPE has recently done a WARN on 5/2 for 61 employees
@cj depends on if they do the WARN in time or not.
Only 3 months of pay? Does it include the 60 day WARN notice?
Severance for anyone grade 10 or below is 3 months and they will honor those terms for the next 12 months.
Severance? You knew this was gong to happen for months. Should've concentrated on getting out like the smart ones. No, your going to be sitting in a pile of your own.
When will we get these letters ?
What has Juniper-level severance been? 2-3 months?
Based on the FAQ's it says that if you don't receive an HPE offer you'll receive Juniper-level severance. If you are given an offer and don't accept it you won't receive severance though, it will be seen as the equivalent to quitting on your own. Also says they don't anticipate offering early retirement.
