Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Seritage possibly looking to sell itself

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/former-sears-landlord-seritage-said-213703310.html

Edward Scott Lampert may be one of the potential buyers.

For those who think Eddie is low on cash, think again. He has money stashed in LLCs that own LLCs that own LLCs. Well hidden and flourishing.

If it would make money, he'd hide a cat litter box within an LLC.

OK, and? He still owns Transformco which means he is still operating the remaining full-line stores. Nothing about this changes that, so.....yawn.

@3dzf+1fwXUaSL She is just fine, as is L. Ron Hubbard. I am all for free market Capitalism, sink or swim. She was way more famous (and thus has/had way more followers) than you ever did. Jealousy is never a good look. Cry about Sears, Ed, and these silly grunt jobs all you want. Civilization moves on, life moves on, Sears/Kmart is obsolete. Downvote all you want, the proof is in the store closing pudding.

And for the record, I like Ayn Rand.

Ayn Rand was not someone to be admired. She was an early L. Ron Hubbard.
Narcissist & jack-of-all-trade scammer and fraudster with no sense of morality whatsoever, who tried every which way to get famous by writing books, creating a religious philosophy, and tooting her own ho-n to get followers for her cult.
Her books were nothing more than badly written bodice rippers for business majors....and id--ts. She understood human nature and economics about as much as a rock does, and of course the same has got to apply to her followers.
Depressing that there are those who share her simple-minded ideology (or idiocy).

Why would Eddie Lampert want to acquire a bunch of cr-p undeveloped real estate that costs a few hundred million in interest and expenses just to sit there? Oh wait.

@ful. You're correct. Anyone who thinks Eddie is short of money is sorely mistaken. The 10-Q only covers a small part of his financial empire. Eddie has money and investments all over the world, as do all billionaires. By the way, everyone should see his mansion and property in Hawaii. It's gorgeous. and amazing.

@grn+1fwXUaSL Exactly. I don't get the hate for Lampert around here. He is literally my hero. I wanted this horrid company gone since the turn of the Century. He is finally fulfilling my wishes. He is making my dream (of a Sears-less, and Kmart-less country) come true. He is literally doing what nobody has been able to do for the last 22 Years, and that is get rid of stup1d Sears. Congratulations and Kudos to him. I wish I could buy him some Cold Ones out of gratitude. My only problem with him is that he didnt end this tu-d sooner.

Here are some of the lyrics to this song:
"Please Eddie don't make me wait too long…"

Everyone hates him? Everyone means everyone. I don't hate him. My wife has no clue who he is so doesn't hate him. Most people I Know don't even Know who he is so they don't hate him. As long as one person on Earth, does not hate him, your EVERYONE statement is factually inaccurate. Everyone literally would mean every single person on Earth, even some random dude in some random countries, like, Senegal, or Uruguay who has no clue what Sears or Eddie Lampert is.

And for the record, I like Ayn Rand. That's how I run my business too. I'm here for myself, not running a Charity. As for Putin, I don't hate him either. My Religion forbids me from hating anyone for any reason. Nobody in my family hates anyone. So no, everybody does not hate him. Everybody legally means 100% of people, not 99.99999%.

Their latest 10-Q filing shows 43.6 million outstanding Class A shares. Eddie owns 22% which is approx 9 1/2 million shares. Lets round up to 10 million because we hate him.
10 million shares at $10.30 per share (quote from a few minutes ago.). He's in it for only a little over 100 million.

Just basic calculations. If you think 100 million is the end of the world for someone who just 3 years ago paid 5.2 billion to buy 400+ stores out of bankruptcy and create Transformco, you are mistaken. He knew what he was buying. He knew there was no future in those stores. Aside from closing/selling them which I am sure got him the majority of that 5.2 billion back. I'd bet he got much more already.

Not suffering one bit. Still owns 3 homes and a yacht and who knows what else.

We still hate him but, he continues to win this war.

Nope. Warren would just acquire the assets. Eddie is a stockholder. Nothing else. He would lose his 22% share but that's all.

While we all hope Eddie suffers thru all of these various "failures", you can be sure he has alot of money in other LLCs that aren't impacted by Transformco or Seritage. I am sure each of his 3 homes are owned by separate LLCs. Same with the yacht.

They owe Warren 1.44 billion, that kind of debt will wipe Eddie out
