Who’s got intel on when the next round of layoffs will be?
No way July 2 was it for the calendar year.

@1k3 I’m not that person, but usually middle of August (from around 13th/14th onwards) is when managers tell their direct reports what they are being awarded for bonus, raise, and stock. Then paycheck for Sept 15 is when it goes into effect.

@gr I believe that. August is when people find out what their rewards are after spring Connect review period, and September is when it gets implemented/paid (bonuses, raises, stock).

Meta, salesforce etc.. are doing the same; this is basically the AI gold rush at the expense of peons employees
In order to find $80 billions, MS will have to borrow it or emit new stocks; either way they need to cut big expenses, which means big layoffs
MS must find $80 billion to invest in AI infrastructure; so big layoffs must occur to show results to shareholders
