That would be me topping out, at the age of 64 yo, at around 400k per year + rotational bonus + bens. However, I worked every other month, (28/28), so I guess that would be maybe double $, or something like that. Who knows; it was plenty for me :) I did an EM rotation for many years.
Prior response is spot on. CL 29 VG today will finish career in 320 to 330 k$ range.
HOWEVER, the trend is clear: the next gen of NREs will be lower. The current NRE’s got zero salary treatment after inflation for the last decade of their careers. Even with promotions, predetermined rankings slide results in zero real salary growth from age 45 to retirement.
Plan accordingly.
YEE 36, $325k not including RSUs, upstream
You can have cl26 and cl25 managers that won't be near 250 base. Rsus don't become meaningful until cl30 so really the entire compensation is base pay for up to cl29. Cl27s can be at 250 base with 220rsu for owd.
Upward mobility is basically stalled now anyways so less and less people will be going beyond 27.
Outside of America, infinite yee.
How does 400k breakdown for manager? 250k base?
for most..never
If you’re in India, never.
Just base salary? Probably not many
About 10 years. 2 paths:
- join EM and become one of the anointed ones. Take home $400k as a manager.
- Spend 5-10 years at an independent. Lateral to Exxon and leverage your skills + higher external comp package.
