that’s because Citi fosters an environment of fear. How can you honestly express how you feel without repercussions? You can’t, and you certainly can’t leverage the VOE so you are left with other forums to vent.
It’s funny, at Citi office employees won’t talk to each other, like a zombie zone they come and go. But @thelayoff.com they are very actively engaging in conversations!!
Bonuses can be 1x salary or more. If I was getting that, I would want to know exactly which day it is being communicated. Thank you for sharing
What difference does it make? Why bicker over if comps are given tomorrow or 5 days from tomorrow. You guys sound like a bunch of little kids quibbling.
Comps are given on Monday.
No way man, they’ll given on Wed.
Last year I got mine on a Monday so that means its always given on Monday every time.
Yeah, but I’m in EMEA so that means its given on a Wed.
Ok, but if its given on a Monday at 12 noon where you’re at, its officially the next day, Tues, where I’m at due to the time difference.

@1jhz+1qzg6RhS not possible. Mine was communicated on the 14th of Jan, after the earnings announcement on the 13th. You cannot get the bonus number before the earnings... Ask every manager you want.
@gnu+1qzg6RhS You are talking rubbish as last year we were told our bonuses on 11th Jan. Not the third week of Jan so stop acting like a know it all.

@gnu+1qzg6RhS Well, you are wrong. Citi released earnings last week, which was the 2nd week in January. Might want to update your "know it all" playbook.
Is that news? Have you ever been through a bonus cycle with any major US bank? Every year it is the same - 3rd week of Jan we have earnings announcement, then the following week is bonus announcement...
Are you a manager and this is what you were told? You have been given the greenlight for tues morning?
How do this years bonuses stack up for your direct reports compared to last year? 75% of last year, etc.?
