Despite enacting 1000s of layoffs as the company claimed it needed to reduce costs. We also expatted an American female to SJS in a GL role, paying for 5 kids to go to private school all expenses paid.

Yawn. These entitled UK pensioners are just clogging up this otherwise enjoyable site
@gn no. Shows you how many there are.
@az You mean like the one that came over from Egypt or Oman like 10 yrs ago and is still there. Or, a certain female who was transferred to Azerbaijan when we divested NAG and she is still there?
I know this person. Those deals are industry norm. But you really should be a high flier with deep technical skills. Not just a face with a degree that ticked the boxes. She’s gone now anyway
Dear everyone who has never worked anywhere else,
This is a pretty standard offer for an expat.
Signed,
Get over it
@a4 there are expats on the gravy train in GoA too.
All the employees that think the got bp by the b…. Get this perk. Someone gets moved as an expat for a 3 year contract, new LM says we need to get you back. Employee says no problem, as long as you pay relocation a year and a half ahead, cash pay all my contract perks AND put all my kids through the same IB curriculum they just finished the first semester year of @40k a year per kid, if not more. I have no idea why any of these employees could not “afford” their own tuition. There are couples in TSI that have rotated through so many countries collecting 100-200k in relocation every other year. I don’t get why we need expat leaders at TSI, paying most folks that were born in India an American salary to live and work in India which defeats the purpose of TSI.Could we not hire Indian leadership from Castro/ Reliance/ SLB/ HAL and pay them local salaries as well? A leader at bp is fundamentally a cheat, that has not been caught yet and gets moved when accountability comes calling. There are always exceptions like GoA and Oman.
@OP This is the kind of excessive perk that AM was apparently trying to stop. How many employees are of a grade where their kiddies are getting school fees paid for them? Which grade would this be applicable to? Why isn't there someone sufficiently competent in the UK to perform her role?
