Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Can this become a thing here as well?

I'm so tired of being ghosted after several interview rounds. It's become the norm these days.

From January 2026, Ontario is making it a fineable offense to ghost a candidate.

@gm

Yup. What is up with all these intel is great goodbye posts. Intel just fu---d you over. Just STFU. You don’t have to post negative or disparaging comments but don’t post these flowery everything is great posts either. You were fired. Intel betrayed you. So stop all the Intel di-k riding. Intel does not care about you and will forget who you even are in 3-4 months. It’s cringy and embarrassing to see all ther groveling worship goodbye posts. Have some dignity and self respect!

@c0 you don't get it. Most intel employees live in a bubble ("prison") where they been so indoctrinated over 10+ years that they are best at what they do that they have no clue that there are so far behind the rest of the industry on every dimension. Kinda like asking a blind person to describe colors. The average person from Intel can't describe colors since they don't know that that means but the rest of companies think it is obvious.
The outside world sees this clearly and so when you put Intel on your resume they basically rejected since they assume your experience is so no relevant or that you are so brainwashed by Intel that you are a loser for also staying so long.

I dunno, maybe stop applying for jobs at dead companies?

OP, are you asking why everyone on the internet is not reliable?

Have you ever tried to sell anything on Craigslist?

This ghosting cr-p has been going for at least 15 years that I know of.
You would thing that employers would stop playing games, but I guess it hasn't been made difficult enough for them.

@a1 I don't get this "remove Intel from your resume" nonsense. If you can't find a job, working at Intel has nothing to do with it. What you do either isn't needed or is crowded with applicants. But there have been several companies who have looked to scoop up laid off Intel employees who work in key domains that they need people for.

Hang in there. I was laid off last November and just started a new job last week. I only had four interviews and two ghosted. It su-ks but something will work out.

An anti ghosting law would be great and should happen here but our legislators are beholden to corporate lobbyists.
And half of our population has capitalism as their religion.

Obama has a pending case re ghosting on a global scale. I'd keep an eye on that precedent for guidance

Whoa you’re getting interviews?!

Did you remove your time at Intel and replace it with a made-up consulting business you ran for yourself?
