Managers ARE retaining people. FACT. People with larger BEMS than people that got WARNs (ILOs) .... you say it doesn’t make sense, why would the Co. do that .... I say, I agree with you! Good people are going out the door, & lots of useless butt kissers are getting, yes, RETAINED. Is it fair...? No. Is it the way it’s supposed to work? No. Where’s the IAM regarding this...? Hahahaha

Everybody: the company IS retaining people, that got WARNs, as in, ILO..... anyone that wants to get all hot & bothered by someone pointing this out or don’t believe it, simply doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Yes, supposedly the Co. is cutting the workforce, VLOs, ILOs. But there’s a definite percentage of people that got WARNs (ILO) that have gotten retained. Fact. Supposedly for 6 months maximum, but it is happening.

@glr+16MWFV9x ok, let me be more clear since you obviously can read between the lines.

They are asking people to leave via VLOs, you get severance and it would jot count against retention since the company offered

ILOs get severance, Involuntary is defined as not of one's own free will

Retention is defined as people staying of their own free will. The OPs postnis about retention.

With VLOs and ILOs going on to the tune of 10%+ why the hell would the company WANT to retain people? If you leave of your own accord (quit you job, not to be confused with a VLO) why the f— would they care? Its one.morenperson out the door and it does not cost them a dime.

Why the f— is there a post about managers retaining people when the company is kicking people out.

Is that clear enough for you?

I will second what the previous poster that any bonuses are contractual. All others are cancelled.

Now, this is the stupidest thread I have seen to date. And there have been some stupid threads.

Retention? Are you BLIND? They have laid off 10% of the workforce and that is just the beginning. They are LITTERALY asking people to leave with VLOs. They want you to leave on your own, that way they don't have to pay you severance with an ILO.

You are as tone deaf as senior management. Are we sure the OP is not a VP. The rank and file could not be that disconnected from reality.

Not sure how long ago , but management Bonuses have been cancelled , only reason any bonuses are issued is contractual. I believe that included executives also, only CEO has one, he won't "accept" his till max is flying ,,How gracious of him !!
