Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Malta needs to learn from Dresden

Dresden Union leaders asks TC the hard questions… inflation and no raises…

Bravo!

Unionize! It’s the only way for them to listen.

It was so sensitive, that TC answered the question off camera. Thought we answered questions truthfully and transparently, especially when they are hard.

Are you serious? Well the large jumps in salary are tied to promotions. But I think the point on here is that the path Globalfoundries and management officially states and is on record is not actually true. It is not merit or achievement based. I have been told off the record that it is entirely based on time with company.

Malta needs to learn how to respect their current employees and stop sh**ing on them.

What is most people's obsession with promotions here? Do you think it will net you a huge raise, or do you legitimately care about your title? I've gotten bigger merit increases two times/years compared to the four times I've been promoted.

Also Dresden can't have their cake and eat it too. They enjoy other the benefits of their worker's council together. If the workers there don't want to make sacrifices like employees at other sites were forced to (layoffs), then they get to suffer the consequences like no merit increases together. They can keep playing the game and escalate with stoppages or anything else at their disposal.

@wmj several people in Dresden commented on GFC asking why GF wasn't taking advantage of that. So, unless they were misinformed or something changed, I don't think GF is taking advantage of that

If only you cretins knew. The German govt is giving tax breaks to companies that will give a one time 3k euros bonus, and is also not taxable (income) to the employee receiving it.

Essentially, if you make 100k euros, you are getting a 3k euro bonus, or 3%, tax free. Most actually make less than that, so the bonus is >3%.

It might not be a raise, but they are getting more money from this program than their other worldwide counterparts, for the year, during questionable economic times.

Some of us don’t feel bad for them, when you actually know the truth.

We are overdue to have our own union here. This is the only way to get our demand actually heard

Yea wtf - it’s a secret only Dresden can know! It’s so much bullsh-t here. They are being exposed and drowning in their own lies and gaslighting. Literally all of it is misdirection, half truths spun to be something else.

Ask your manager how promotions work and the yearly reviews. Do it…. And see how all of it is really not true or accurate. It’s definitely does not work in the manner management and leadership have advertised to us. There is a whole other agenda and world and policies behind the orange curtain. I have never worked at almost comedically fraudulent place as Globalfoundries. Spin, bullsh-t, smoke and mirrors
