New Refining Boss

Seems like they are bringing back an ex-bp person to be the head of refining. Why cant we develop our own people??? Succession planning is such a joke here. Wonder what the refinery folks think.

GB needs to go. They will put SS in that position. EE's role should go away. There is no need for head of technology. Those functions can be rolled under another executive. WL role need to go away and gas producing Assets should role back into P&O. All that new energy/renewable assets will be sold/spun off. Elliott - I hope you are reading this.

EE would be a great head of P&O

@gh+1jsew4f3z - presumably means current head of technology (upstream background) who was previous chief of staff

Who is EE?

Refining has always been the easier role. As the refining managers hold all the power. Also look at the balance of portfolios. Selling out of Germany canned all the alternative fuels projects as they’re non economic. No need for a head of refining

@et+1jsew4f3z But you can put an upstream person in charge of refining, which is the current situation with Gordon? They need to be separated.

You can’t put a refining person in charge of upstream. But GB will leave. EE will take his place

I’ve heard rumors that GB is leaving and she’ll take his role.

@e0+1jsew4f3z That would be the biggest clearing up operation since Deepwater!

Its quite a few to clear out.....disappointing that those who chose that path to promotion have cast a bad shadow on women who would have climbed the ladder by hard work

Usually when they announce a replacement for a leader and don’t say what the leader is going to do, that means they will be sent off to a cushy job with no actual responsibilities OR they will “retire” within a year.
