If you get put on a PIP, consider it a paid interview process… don’t even bother with burning yourself out at a company who is trying to wear out good employees.

I don't believe OP isn't being paid.
But an interview in which you don’t get the job offer in the end. Got it. Should probably also plan to simultaneously spend that paid time doing interviews elsewhere.

Just go on and on in meetings about how you love your new long rifle and go shooting every weekend with your buddies. That should scare the ones with family at least off your back for a while...
Seems like less drama and effort, therefore more money saved by just keeping the usual layoff and package system 🤔 unless more PIPs creates extra work to keep certain little groups employed. I could see that too...
