About the quality of the office furniture and desks in the train station? We have cr-ppy desks and chairs in the office I work in now. Hopefully the Train station is a huge improvement.

Honestly....if you don't like where they make you work, find a different job. "Oh it's not that simple..."
Its not supposed to be. If it was, no one would be working for Ford, understand? Ford is an employer of last resort for a lot of people. The thing is a lot of people think it has to be that way, and for some of them it has to be. But for most it doesn't. Take advantage of the people who think they need to stay and take themselves out of the competition for other jobs. Let them stay and languish if they choose.
Hopefully there's no mice or cockroaches like in old PDC. Came back from Christmas break one year after Covid and the mice had a po-p/eat anything they could party in my desk. Asked housekeeping to take a look and their guy dumped hot chocolate over our copy machine and then denied doing it. Nothing was cleaned or corrected, the cleaner just made it worse and his supervisor accused us of being the problem. It's not like we had food or anything that would attract vermin, but that is what they accused us of without any evidence. I don't count my GD&T manual as food.
Why would you care about the furniture? It doesn’t matter to me. Just give me a paycheck, and I’ll be fine working in a mosh pit. New Layout = Less Productive - their loss.
@km Certainly not. Lincoln, the premier automotive division of Ford Motor Company, does not have employees who prioritize furniture over product improvement. Instead, they are dedicated and hands-on in their efforts to enhance the quality of their products, ensuring that Lincoln remains America’s most exclusive automobile manufacturer.
OP, what group are you in, Lincoln marketing?
@gc I can buy my own furniture for 1.2% of my salary.
You misunderstood what Ford HR told you. So, HR is going to ask your manager to clarify the following.
Your Ford manager will soon inform you that a chauffeur named Rib Wheeler, who works at the Dutton Ranch, that handles special occasions will give you a ride this week to the Train Station.
Pretty sure you can look forward to paying city income tax, dunno about the furniture but that building better be really nice for the 1.2% paycut.
Hopefully the strangler can finish with me before the police arrive, he should have enough time.
All Ford Security will do is call the police for you as they watch you get robbed from the safety of their office.
How are you not ecstatic to work at the train station! Choo Choo motherf----r
Your going to love it there.
My advice: don’t ever park on the street, and don’t ever be there after dark.
Ford Secure can’t protect you from the dangers in that area.
Not to mention the corktown strangler.
The furniture guy is gone. Maybe they recycled someone's old Steelcase stuff...
Well, you can celebrate your 2% pay cut that good ole Ford just signed you up for. Detroit will soon be dipping its hands into your paycheck. Then of course the cr-ppy parking situation and not to mention risk of having your car broken into. But hey, sounds like you're more worried about the chair you'll be sitting in.
Do you really think that Ford spent the money needed to have high-quality office furniture and desks for the worker bees? 😆😂🤣
