Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Can someone who works for Dell outside of the US tell me what's going on with your RTO?

Seems like most of the post here are from the US. I'd like to hear about what's going on elsewhere with RTO. Especially if you are in one of the very few unionized countries or a country that actually cares about its workers.

in Malaysia it is he-l too, few people in ISG and SRO were laid off working "Remotely". I guess management wanted to reduce headcount in a di-khead way. All the leaders in Malaysia are a joke and great bootlickers to RR execs

Ottawa has a Dell RnD office for 5g development and has now expanded it to house RTO employees

Slovakia here, we are flagged as Phase 2 and continuing as during COVID times. Not even our site leadership know what’s going to happen or when because of the labor code. They can’t really force us into an office as it’s stated in our labor code that you can’t discriminate your employees based on the work location whether it’s from home or office.

So let’s see.

Morale is really bad in our office. No one wants to come in 5 days a week, but we are being forced to. We also have to stay the full day and there’s barely flexibility anymore. I really hope we can go back to being hybrid, it’s so loud and hard to focus in the office. I don’t think this policy will last unless they want to burn out their employees or have them quit.

@dgt+1v8vtwnv It seems to be pretty bad in every office worldwide.
Everyone wants out

Morale terrible in Sydney office. Originally we were told we didn’t have to come in the 5 days until November, but then our Snr Management came over the top and we had to be in the office the next week. Lots of people saying they are looking elsewhere but no one has left as yet. Our teams have been gutted with the recent layoffs so not many people left to do the work, especially TSRs.

Some people are being bullied to come in 5 days. 9am to 5:30pm and its leaving a negative feeling.
Message is coming from a senior director.
The mental health of staff is suffering and thats a dangerous game to play.
Some notes on mental health on the bathroom doors so Dell is covered.
Laughable.
Best advice is run from Dell and dont look back.

Dublin - think it's dependant on your manager it seems to be. Very much in 5 days and no flexibility. Unless your leader likes you and says keep doing what your doing and say nothing

I suggest you go back and check your emails circa 5th May for starters where you can find details about the Site visit data which tracks your badge entry if you are desegnated hybrid (started tracking 13th May). This is also available on Inside Dell. Then go check your Workday profile and see if you are racking up your required quarter total. If you are found wanting it could be used against you come end of year appraisal which is obv up to your manager to decide. Perhaps your manager isnt bothered... good for you. Maybe you should go talk to them about it... You didnt say what area you are in... Are you even in Cork? We dont say 'period' here unless you're talking about a monthly cycle

what are you talking about, there has been no communication about hybrid being in 3 days. there has been no communication in Cork , period

ISG, Cork, Ireland. Hybrids expected to be in office 3 days a week and they are tracking badge ins (but not outs). Card colour system is in place tracking attendence but I dont know of anyone beint punished for not making the cut. I dont think there is enough seats for all unless they open up all the (unrefurbished) floors.

No news on remotes since the Sales guys were told to be in 5 days apart from many have been asked to switch to hybrid and it has been suggested that those remote may be the ones "they choose" for redundancy.

Belgium here midmarket ISR: I'm not coming in 3 days, only 2 and I've told my manager I'm not going 3 days, he doesn't seem to care. Our building is too old to check badge logins, I've been looking to get a new job ASAP. Morale is horrible.

Spain. Seems business as usual. They closed half the Madrid office so nowhere for everyone to sit. Managers making token efforts to appear in office. We have a union and worker rights in the EU help prevent Draconian moves like this. It took 18 months to finally agree on Phase 1.

OP+1v8vtwnv Not true for all.
Dublin sales are being pushed back 5 days with no exemptions from November.
Also senior management seem to have no clue about how bad morale is or thats what they want.
Either way the writing is on the wall.

Ireland. No changes to hybrid or remote, just continue as normal

Only 2 offices in Australia as well, quite a lot of remote people based where their customers are around the country. We do have access to Regus offices but working from there is not required for anybody. Hybrids have been required to RTO but remotes are being told to carry on as normal. If they got rid of all remote workers here there would be no one left to do the work.
