Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Why is TDC listing their entire building A for lease?

https://www.cushmanwakefield.com/en/united-states/properties/for-lease/office/ca/san-diego/17095-via-del-campo/s119291849-227787-l

Tdc isn't doing great but other like there's no way there going to layoff everyone in SD. Think the post is a scam or are they planning on sending everyone to a we work

@d2 I'm waiting for someone to open up an anti-white discrimination lawsuit after the next round of RIFs. With Trump in charge, the suit might actually have legs.

It's a ghost town already. Office consolidation is to be expected after so many cuts. If Trump wasn't in charge I'm sure they would move the entire office into Mexico.

@dy Super-Engineer is his usual deluded self. Maybe it will dawn on him when his desk is rented out from under him.

@dm TD history shows the headquarters can move at anytime. In 2018, TD moved Headquarters from Dayton, OH to San Diego. I wouldn’t be surprised if they reduced the amount of space they used in the current building and leased the rest. If the right lessee came along, they might vacate for something cheaper. I’ve seen people post that it’s TD’s building, but it may not be paid in full and that monthly note isn’t going to pay itself.

@de Building A isn't for lease that is a fact, buddy. Where is Teradata going to move it's San Diego operations to? Think about what you're saying, I know you are not particularly bright, if you were you wouldn't be whining here on this forum like a child.

I'm fairly sure this is just an error on the real estate website, possibly someone scrapped some data and is just listing the building and it's square footage. I wouldn't read too much into it, those buildings have been a part of TDC forever and we actually own these buildings. NCR used to buy the buildings it used which is why Teradata has it

Remote focused (and current off shore pushing) company realizes they can income from a mostly empty office building would be my guess.

Anything is possible. The shutdown the Dayton office in 2018 and moved the headquarters to San Diego. They are being pressured to get costs down so leasing out the building would help mitigate that. I did notice India has 100+ job postings and SD only has around 20. Mexico has some jobs posted that used to be performed in SD and ATL so I would say they are working to reduce operating costs.
