Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

I don't think we need to worry about more layoffs

Juniper folks should definitely worry, because the brunt of this is going to hit them.

Juniper and HPE will work together and cut the fat or extra headcounts.

Their main goal is to focus on the stock price! Outsource as much as possible to Asia and get rich !!

HPE aruba was cut big time in Santa Clara and they moved all the employees on the other side of 237 highway. HPE employees were cut big time and outsourced to India.

Can they beat Cisco in routing, switching and wireless ? Good luck ! Time will tell !

I worked on the Friday and woke up to a settlement agreement on Monday morning without any prior consultation. Don’t be so naive. This is the most impractical company I’ve ever worked for.

Seriously? Are you new to HPE? This will not stop for a while. It will be a constant trickle of layoffs so you all don’t feel it, but it is absolutely still happening. Hopefully you can remain in your blissful ignorance.

@g8 They kicked your a-s badly enough to over pay dramtically for a made up AI play so?

@OP

It's HPE, you should always worry about layoffs.

@tf Based on what info?

From now on, I guess, they will go to a quarter schedule. Otherwise, they wont be able to make the ends meet. Quarterly based layoffs are now part of the agile process.

Simply not correct. My team and others are getting hit tomorrow.

Juniper sales doesn't know how to sell enterprise deals. Ask Sgt. Marge.

It is interesting to see the merger between Aruba and Mist. New team.

AI bubble will burst soon! Only few companies will make good use of AI.
Even juniper MIST does not solve real network issues, it is good at troubleshooting and predicting a network issue in the network.

Zoom out and get the big picture.
This is a reorganization process of the american industrial-military complex, and Elliott is tasked to do the dirty work.
It's not about the HPE-JNPR merger, it's about sending an overweight and undereductaed entity to the gym.
You'll leave in fear (more or less) at HPE for the next years.
After that you get certainty that your job is replaced by AI.

Aruba cloud will be hit big time. Worst product I ever worked on in my life. Cut the team and free the customers from daily torture of using Aruba APs.

Many are jumping into SDWAN now. Whole tribe is moving from area that will be hit hard to safer area. A lot of chess moves going on in HPE !

JNPR sales have not been a part of "full stack" sales campaigns. They are too complex for JNPR sales. Their enterprise team is a laugh.

Top performance means less than the cost, location and executive value of the
head count

@b1 Rami knows where the skeletons are on the Juniper side, so you could make an argument that’s good and bad for JNPR layoffs.

Math for whether you'll be laid off:

Do you do a job that someone else (either at HPE or JNPR) does?
The role is a candidate for layoff.

Do you make more money than the other person who does the same job?
You are the layoff.

It is not about whether you have work at an HPE site or a JNPR site. It is one company. The target savings will come from the largest salaries.

Many in Juniper sales need to go. They just don't have the enterprise experience unfortunately. Many have sloppy appearance.

Standard merger consequences, IMO, not a bloodbath. Both groups equally effective.

Little too optimistic. They’re going to keep top performers from both companies. Everybody else it’s a numbers game. Regardless…I don’t think there’s going to be large cuts for a while outside of the obvious.
