Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Citi layoffs 2nd week of April 2025

It's no secret Citi is planning to cut around 10% of their workforce. This is in the financials and public notices. What's unknown is the date. I've learned that the bulk of the cuts will come the second week of April. I cannot advise which departments but just giving a heads up.

There seems to be an influx of overseas open jobs right now @Citi in last couple of weeks. They probably got rid of bunch if people now hiring at lower salary. Terrible cycle.

The lingering worry of layoffs is getting really old. It’s been like 3 years of this now. So many things moving off shore. More to come from what I’m hearing and seeing.

All the asset management jobs are going to India. Great company...don't use Citibank.

@OP+1jpz11w06 I can answer for my area in HR. This is true. Roles were moved to Canada or Costa Rica for all people in specific roles.

Citi just started notifications of “layoffs” 5/1/25. Roles have been relocated to low cost area and employees may relocate to the areas, including Canada, Costa Rica, India, etc. no relocation assistance is being offered. This is similar to the recent IBM layoffs where they were relocating roles to low cost areas and forcing out (older employees???) and forcing hybrid/remote workers out.

With San Antonio crime rate being off the charts, yeah, good luck with that.

Saying USPB isn’t really as helpful as you folks may think. Maybe inform what specific functions within USPB? Or, C levels or even locations?

This is correct - some time in April. I know for a fact USPB will be impacted as already been asked to start providing names.

Layoffs?? They did that last year at this time to a tune of 7K........... So, how do they figure which ones go due to "reduction in force"? Tenure doesn't seem to matter, neither does knowledge.

‘Belfast more costly than the US’ how bored are the id--tic trolls on this site to post such utter nonsense.

I’m not sure what you mean. There’s no special consideration for any site. All are up for consideration when it comes to layoffs. Belfast is no more or less special than any other site.

Belfast has been classified as more costly than in the US. Most likely trimming back some in Belfast for sure.

Im in HR and heard from a teammate that our manager mentioned concern about our workload. For me personally Im busier now than I have been in 2 years, but I guess other folks on the team are not. My manager has also started micro managing me lately, so I do think I’m either being pushed out, or will be on the chopping block soon. Hopefully the severance is decent and I can find something else. I honestly don’t care because I have enough cash saved up to pay my mortgage through January of 2026, and I hate having to go into the office.

But wait, there’s been plenty of posts over Banamex being sold off…counting those heads into the mix and that the layoffs for the most part is over.

Maybe we should try the Wall Street’s pay-to-fix-it approach again and give 250 top executives up to $5 million each extra in addition to their normal pay over three years to fix things. You know because it worked out so well the last time.

@ac+1jpz11w06 I agree! Please provide real facts people. I think people should be smart enough not to reveal too much and protect oneself.

I’m sorry but this place’s data quality is awful. Never have I ever worked somewhere where people prefer to make and manipulate multiple Excel trackers instead of using available dashboard or BI applications. I always hear well the dashboard doesn’t give us this or that. Then why did you purchase or develop it hmmm?

I think trackers are a way to try to hide incompetence and what’s really going on. Don’t even get me started about all the useless PPTs and meetings😜. They like to give contractors these things as busy work now they will fall to the rest of us. Smh😩🙈

You can say which departments without being too detailed as to expose yourself. If you don't say which depts. this is just a troll vague BullSh!t post/thread that you created that says, "Layoffs in April.....but can't say where."

No Sh!t Genius !

How is this helpful to anyone?? Employees are aware Layoffs will continue until the 1st quarter of 2026. That's why we go to this Site Forum.

This new thread was probably started by the Unhinged Belfast Poster.

He starts or posts on threads with variations of the same theme with NO details: Layoffs in Belfast Next Month, Belfast Layoffs Coming Soon Trust Me, Belfast Layoffs in 2 Weeks, Yadda Yadda Yadda.......Bullsh!t Bullsh!t Bullsh!t
