Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Did you make the list?!?

The reality is clear and this should not be a surprise to you if this is who I’m about to describe.. the truth is if you have not been a motivated employee who has NOT been excelling as far back as a year let along well over a year, and not only your coworkers but also your boss knows of this lack of motivation…. Congrats you made the list of possible incoming reductions.. other people may have also been added based on conversations with there SLT to be added to this list of reductions.. although the truth is and should be as clear as day.. if you’re unmotivated and lack any amount of will to excel on a daily basis.. then you made this list everyone keeps talking about.

I am sorry to say but this blog has a ton of this level Caliber individuals.. there is a ton of people on here unmotivated and simply want to be let go.. you will most likely get your day…

Directors don't "receive" lists. They provide lists. What they eventually received was approval of their final org plans. These decisions are made at the Director of Sr Director leveling most orgs, unless said director(s) are also going to be impacted. In that case, the decision would be made by whoever they report to. All that said, assessments and before/after org charts are reviewed by HR and Legal, in addition to overall senior leaders of orgs (often SVPs). Directors are now under NDA, but because this has been going on for many months, most directors have already gotten loads of input from senior managers. Some may have kept it tighter than that and never shared with senior managers pre-NDA. But they could have if they felt the need to. All of this to reiterate that people close to the work are making these decisions - they don't receive lists based on tenure, salary, etc like the conspiracy theorists believe. And there sure as he-l aren't lists floating around that any sr manager or below would have their hands on.

Karma friend-- 20 yrs, Winners Circle, Peak-- nationwide top performer over 3 decades-- and it happens. You are not special, nor are you valued. You are P# Nothing more, nothing less.and clearly someone who thinks they're better than everyone else. If you think your blind allegiance will protect you, wake the f--k up, or don't act surprised when your number is called.

I go to Hawaii on my own, not for the purposes of hanging out with my co-workers. It is way more fun than PEAK.

Heard the same from my manager: directors got the list last week (for technology department) and were sworn to secrecy through NDA.

No way in he-l there are any "lists" floating around. Director+ leaders have this info and are currently under NDA. They may have been talking before, but they aren't talking now too much at stake.

"PEAK isnt performance related fyi, its voted on by peers and leaders."

Right but peers and leaders aren't going to vote for someone whom isn't performing. It is directly related.

The way to get into PEAK is via nomination and nomination is from peers based on recognition. There are folks who delivered 1-2 big projects working with thousands in backend but claimed the whole recognition of making it work. Heck even the idea was not their own, but were nominated into peak. So called performance is subjective and sh-t not everyone qualifies for that award.

PEAK is indeed performance related. Source: myself, who won PEAK.

"I am sorry to say but this blog has"

Immediately made me disregard your opinion. You work at a company whose main business is internet infrastructure. How can you not know what a blog is or isn't? You need to retire, gramps.

There are recent PEAK winners on the list. It’s not all performance-related.

"how do you know you're on the list?"

I'm close with my director and have already been told on the DL.

Except this is accurate at all. I am the #1 top performer on my team. I'm also 100% remote with travel. Have been since 2017. I'm on the list solely because of being remote.
