I can’t believe they plan to stop giving severance pay like some people are saying. Do you think such a scenario will happen? ....... If they change the severance policy, it will be my last day here.

This is a good point. For folks looking for a new gig, look into the company's financials. If the company was subject to a leveraged buyout, I'd keep looking. The equity firms acquiring the company have a greater interest in re-selling the company as opposed to growing the company.

Monday / Tuesday is the end of the redundancy process in EMEA. This is when HR tells whoever is going what their payoff is. In this group, as I believe are Sales Exc, Sales support and GSE members.
Why would they do that? It seems to be much more fun to completely blindside people as much as they can.
If they are getting rid of severance in 2022, then lay me off next week...

I guess the elimination of severance in 2022 makes sense since there will be no one left after this Monday and Tuesday
Is severance in lieu of unployment? I'll probably get a better deal on unemployment.

Azure? Whatever. Once again they're 3-5 years too late to the scene to make a good showing. They lost so many opportunities by being so stubborn for so long. Once again, ignoring all suggestions unless they come from the right people.

The problem is you'll never know until it's too late.
I believe that there are a handful of people left who only recognize ideas that are their own or can be spun to appear to be their own. It feels like that sort of mentality has been feeding the spiral for a lot of years now, and the refusal to ditch even one or two of these people continues to be the downfall. Sad, really.
is it hard to get your ideas through with that grade-a lying POS KR still there?
I guess I'm staying on for different reasons.
I still have things I want to do and push here to improve efficiency in how solutions are delivered and create a more manageable environment for operations; things I've been pushing for years and waiting for the right ears to hear. I feel like I'd be giving up because things are hard.
At the same time, I do feel like I'm delusional that anyone can see past their own egos to do the right thing.
There's still learning opportunities around. Take them. If, for nothing else, you'll have additional tools you can take elsewhere that some other employer will appreciate.
Several years ago it was 2 weeks then reduced to 1 week to save money. Since SG is not generating revenue and they owe everything to the owners the layoffs will continue and the expenses need to be reduced. One of the largest expenses that they do not have to pay is severance. Flip the question, why would you think severance would continue? I think SG caring about employees, let one fired employees, has been over for many years.

It's been stated on prior posts, that severance, clearly, is not a guaranteed entitlement. I mean I'm not a shill for management - I'm a realist. This is not a publicly traded company but there is data out there as to measurement of SG's obligations. Folks can hang on if they'd like but some of them have seen the financials and realize the reality - SG is measuring the balance sheets and severance might not be a high priority.
Also realize, there are people at SG who also are under this realization but have their own reasons for staying. Despite all the calls to 'leave under our own terms', there are reasons long-timers will continue to stay on. Prior posts judgements on us long-timers mean nothing - we all have our own reasons for staying on and it's not so simple as a 'big pay out'. Perhaps we stay for a misguided loyalty to the company. On the other hand, some of stay on a misguided realization of potential benefits SG might afford us. Judge away - there's not going to be a huge walk off.
Sounds like he's planning to once this new policy has been verified Pal. Can anyone corroborate?
