Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Are layoffs really the only strategy this leadership can come up with?

Tell me, what else has been done to move the company forward, besides inflating the numbers through closures and cuts? Please, I’m all ears.

@fv that's because of ELT likes one particular HR manager. This person has been given keys to the kingdom with no accountability for their poor leadership and decision-making. It really is the P66 way.

Yes. The answer is yes. Layoffs are their only strategy. But, watch, they layoff positions and then they repost them. It’s a vicious cycle of futility.

I don't disagree that there is some fat but this has been going on for half a decade! And the company is no closer to an end to their cost cutting/salary cuts/promotion freeze broken record efforts than when they started. THAT IS AN ELT FAILURE! And until the board recognizes that, the current toxic environment will continue. I can't wait until this all impacts the data sent to the various regulators. Many of the roles they are eliminating are positions that ensured data was accurate. Those checks and validations efforts are what management deems non-value adding. Time will tell.

There are wayyyyy too many employees doing work that isn’t required, it adds complexity and costs the company massive overhead just to keep people on staff… What we need is a plan to actually eliminate non value added work… then actually get rid of the RIGHT people not just create new work and jobs just to keep them.
