Frog in a boiling water: AI adoption ; NExt 75

Next 75 figured it that it would look amazing, to use AI software for QA for customer service, cutting out accenture and in house employees..

Funny part is they have no idea, that AI software sold to them, is in the early adoption phase.. AI software makers are making big corporations adopt, once they are absolutely dependent on them, the licensing costs will be through the roof with contracts requiring money to get out, whereas people are easy to fire and hire. People wage growth is a laughable to BIG AI hiking up licensing cost 2 X - 3 x every 5 years

You just played yourself, all your data and operational capability belongs to us. Best part the VP and Director who signed off on this wont be even be there, next time licensing price is hiked

@3gy we are now wasting a Director role for the chief of CTO staff. Putting someone in a director seat to manage talent admin, crank out some Copilot-generated text, set up meetings, and deal with calendar stuff is not strategy .........it’s admin work!! We are taking a leadership role that’s supposed to drive transformation ...... just shuffling people around and giving it a fancy title by the CTO so he can play his politics to get his a*** covered. In an environment where budgets are tight and rest are trying to deliver real work.............. burning a Director role on just doesn’t make any sense.

Finally got the deadweight out of the network director seat and brought in someone who actually knows their stuff. About time we stopped spinning our wheels. CTO is on a PIP now, so maybe things will actually change. Finally much needed wake-up call at the senior level about what it actually takes to run an environment this complex.

Unfortunately billionaire con men and their cooperation are going to con Enbridge and the entire industryn with AI. AI is at best a tool but the d-mb exectuive who will sign off on mass layoff will believe their AI hype. It is a tool end of

Its funny, we complain about offshore and get told its temporary until the magic AI tool arrives. Makes me wonder if we hire the literal cheapest offshore people we can who in many cases dont appear to have basic IT knowledge to lower the bar for the eventual AI tool.

I always thought TIS addiction to capital was odd. They had teams paid for by OM budget, yet wouldn’t lift a finger to help unless they got capital.

The stupidity of managers in TIS is what has led to massive firings and reliance on vendors and managed swevices. They weee scamming the company and they finally got called on it which ultimately led to their demise.

When you wouldn’t let your OM budget resources do any work how can you justify having TIS staff … now they all whine cause capital has dried up with the cloud and they have low morale with the remaining employees.

You can’t make this type of stupidity up

Just like moving to the cloud, there are big advantages, but now the vendors can charge whatever they want, and we can't capitalize anything. Ultimately, this is a change in the world and Enbridge is just going along; hope no one was expecting Enbridge leaders to do anything different.

@kz Customer QA AI software is a mess. Many of us vendors are laughing as Microsoft’s licensing costs will skyrocket .

N75 & Customer QA team fell for the GenAI Director’s pitch on Microsoft’s early phase AI. Now the CTO and his favorite hand-picked Director and her Manager are showing off to us vendors how their AI tools from Microsoft will replace hundreds of USUI and GDS customer service employees with AI.

They are boasting their success in saving millions through customer service employee layoffs. Many of us vendors are laughing because AI doesn’t work! It’s going to be a disaster!

Nepo-baby Director + sugar-daddy CTO + inexperienced Gen AI Manager = inevitable trainwreck.

All tech decisions in the CTO’s group are driven by bedroom lust and politics.

@kh Lmao wtf.. who is spilling the truth here .. few supervisors and team leads are pretty much gestapos, watching your tongue.. sent out in droves to collect sentiment, the plantation enforcers, whoever wrote this comment I hope I ran into you unknowingly in the lobby, give you a salute

@cg The CTO does not have one GF; in fact, he has spread them all across TIS as spies. Here ...AI bullsh-t, then network with absolutely no technical capabilities, creating multiple MIs. Oh wait....the list does not end....another plastic, tight clothes that he transferred to spy on the BIG boss. He also has a Hi---r driving some integrations, making employees lives he-l. The list of spies is endless.

@fr @fr A 500-person copilot use license waitlist? Meh. TIS has been caught lying about the benefits /value and the ROI of software that they have delivered .

TIS is notorious for hiring people with MBAs that excel at faking numbers . Especially, their CTO has a fetish for hiring leaders with MBAs.

I’m in Finance. We see it all the time that TIS is excellent at faking software benefits, and their wannabe techies with MBAs make up fake numbers and flash Power BI dashboards to justify investments in Tech.

What’s the guarantee those ‘copilot waitlisters’ are not ghosts, stale sign-ups, or people who don’t even remember saying yes from 2024?.

Are those wait list numbers real, current, and eager people still wanting the license? Or are these numbers just another TIS fabrication to grab extra budget $$$ and feed what someone here earlier raised as the corrupt CTO’s AI kickback scheme with Microsoft ?

Many of my peers in Finance say this: TIS delivers half-baked IT tools, those tools have very little actual users using it. TIS loves benefits dashboards , they use them to show value and false made-up numbers.

When you talk to the people who use the software, they barely use it and have a long list of complaints . The Customer Service QA software here is like in the same boat as the earlier poster said.

When TIS leadership is questioned, TIS CTO, Directors and Managers get defensive . These people give zero transparency on how their benefits numbers on their Power Bi dashboards were derived and which independent third party audited it .

Who’s cross checking independently these numbers ? This is where N75 can add a lot of value.

N75 needs to audit the entire TIS portfolio to trace the real benefits from fabricated benefits . Get some accountants in and lift the hood.

Techies with MBAs in TIS flashing a pretty dashboard with numbers doesn’t prove jack sh!t especially if TIS has history of incompetent corrupt leaders getting kickbacks and Directors and VPs promoting their pals.

@ew there’s something like a 500 person waitlist for one of the copilot licenses. So if you aren’t using it and hate it then taking it and giving it to someone on the wait list seems to make sense doesn’t it?

Nobody cares if you personally use it, just that the license actually gets used.

Enb makes the absolute worst software decisions. It's borderline incompetence at this point.

It’s evident that corrupt as fu©k TIS VPs and Directors are feeding N75 and Enbridge their busted, lying, cash hemorrhaging snake-oil AI software ideas.

We all know that AI doesn’t do a godda-n thing that it promises. Microsoft, Google and Grok are blowing smoke!

Many of the hard working folks in Customer Care, Major Projects, Field Operations, and Business Development are the ones actually making the company money . None of them use a lot of AI today.

Copilot is a joke! Just recently , they sent all the folks an email saying if we don’t use copilot, they will revoke our license . Threats and coercion to use AI?

I was told TIS is paying millions in licensing $$$ to Microsoft for these copilot licenses . So now CTO and his AI Director with Microsoft are threatening people to use it as Copilot. Of course, if the rest of us don’t use Copilots, the kickbacks to the CTO and licensing revenue for Microsoft stops!

Did TIS ever ask us pipeliners why a lot us are not using copilot or what’s wrong with it? Stop force feeding us AI !

TIS id--ts gorge on our precious business capital budget spend $$ while spreading their broken AI gospel, getting their fragile egos stroked for “thought leadership” as the rest of us eat their sh!t sandwich of broken promises and flimsy AI toys that don’t even work.

AI is hardly intelligent at this point in time. It is more just a grade 8 level of competence.

Probably explains why are execs are drooling over it. Small things amuse small minds.

AI will eventually catch up but the tools being sold to us by MS, Google, Grok, etc… are garbage slop - capitalizing on the market term versus delivering anything substantial.

Our execs are obsessed with their brand …. At what they don’t realize is putting AI slop between customers and them means customers have no meaningful attachment and therefore no loyalty. They have forgotten that customers are PEOPLE. Then again employers are treated as a number so why not treat everything else like it as well.

Fully agree! You couldn’t have said it better.

Come to think of it, it’s common knowledge that the TIS CTO/VP, J0E and his wet palms are dripping with AI vendor kickbacks he’s getting from Microsoft and other big commercial AI vendors that he’s convincing N75 to also pitch.

Everybody with eyes and half a brain sees it. Rumor has it that right before the N75 customer QA software roll out, the TIS CTO/VP crammed his new AI Director in last year, at the exact moment when the former CIO Bhush@n resigned (or was forced to leave).

The CTO posted the job for his AI software director buddy for only a few days, ran a total hiring sham, installed his girlfriend, and gave her a crown before the paint dried. He did it deliberately right before the new CIO Sc0tt, took over.

Now the CTO and his new girlfriend Director, the two of ’em are living large, Microsoft and AI vendor-paid bar tabs, free top shelf booze every night, cushy paid speaking AI gigs at vendor sponsored conferences, statements in news articles mentioning their names.

Wherever they can get a mic or free marketing forum to promote themselves, TIS leadership slobbering public love letters on “AI revolution at Enbridge” like cheap wh0res at a convention
