Did anyone confirm the board is meeting this week and not next?

Pat is almost hang on the rope, not the problem is they could not find somebody to take the role from him. Nobody want to be intel CEO now.
Anyone else think there is something going on behind the scenes with the recent board member resignation
Pat should have risen the ranks like he did. We need to stop similar Jabronis from rising up as well.
Firing Pat is a decision left for the December board meeting.
Orrr, the board / CEO could be trying to pull a Sears (headed by Edward Lampert, iirc). Drive the price so far down, they could take it private and sell off the parts they don't want.
Fruit for thought.
Why they ever hired this buffoon is beyond me. The fact that they keep giving him multi-million dollar raises for tanking everything he touches is even more bewildering. His job must be to take the stock down to absolute rock bottom so Intel can be bought and sold for parts....
probably the BOD is behind Pat in this whole saga
Pat should be fired, but he won't. Why? Because the BoD won't be able to find someone willing to take the job.

Sell the majority of stake mobileye and focus on recovery.Be honest with everyone no more bs.
Elon musk or Jeff bezos will save us
People defending Pat and thinking that he should get 1-2 more years… I don’t think you understand the reality – Intel doesn’t have one to two more years. Intel barely has six months left. Intel will not survive in its current shape and form for more than six months. Pat completely destroyed the company and eliminated any chances of its revival. every extra day that Pat stays on a CEO is one day lost in the chance to fix intel.
Flashback to May 2023

“Clearly the financials aren’t what we hoped for,” CEO Pat Gelsinger told Wall Street analysts on a conference call, acknowledging that the company’s results and outlook “are below what we expect of ourselves.”
“We’re confident with the strategic outlook we have for our business,” Gelsinger said.
Pat is STILL spewing the same BS.
Still confident in this carnival clown?
Nominate PG the "Father of IDM2.0" for his god damned legacy!
Asking him to leave now would be premature.
The company is under extreme financial duress. Intel won’t survive the next few years with the current situation and cash burn.
Someone else needs to take over and stop the bleeding. Take the losses and move onto smaller ambitions.
Pat still thinks it’s 1999.
Semiconductor turnaround/decisions take 5+ years to pan out. My guess is he will be given 1-2 more years and until the results on PTL on 18A is demonstrated (for better or worse). If things looks good next year (no schedule slips, 18A is ready one time) and 1 or 2 customers have signed up by then, he will continue. Otherwise, new CEO.
The new CEO will not have any better strategy but to break up the company. Asking him to leave now would be premature. Just my personal opinion. So probably the best course is to downsize, sell non-core assets to raise cash to pay down debt, and buy time for another 1-2 years. At the same time, cutting/trimming product teams to fund foundry is not a winning strategy either. Intel does have a winner in LNL and PTL must be better than LNL/ARL (higher value proposition) to continue the momentum.
What about Jensen? Could he be the one to take the one great semiconductor giant back to greatness? It would be a great way to cement his legacy in the same breath as Noyce, Moore, Grove, Barrett, Otellini, Krzanich, Swan and Gelsinger.
Pat has zero excuses. He has been CEO for 3.5 years. 14 quarters. He has lied to the board and the employees and to the shareholders every single earnings call. He should be fired and indicted.
The board member who recently stepped down is probably the best person to become the next ceo. He is the only one who had the courage to step down when the rest of the board refused to act.
Who would you replace him with??
Name a Rockstar that can save the day!
How can board take action? They are worst of the worst. They were not picked on merit but based color of skin and gender. Diversity only means race and gender. Nothing to do with diversity of ideas, poverty,
There is a law in business. No business survives 4 bad CEOs. PG is number 4.
For anyone making excuses for Pat, understand this. Yes, the mess was a long time coming, but he is the CEO now and has been less then truthful with everyone about the state of the business.
This is very disturbing in the light of how much they pushed "Truth and Transparency", both of which they have failed miserably at. Does Pat need to be fired - maybe. I would much rather see the board cut his and the ELT's salary back to $1 and claw back the 180 mil package he received. This will never happen, though, as the board has no spine.
Vanguard wants action now. They have a large portion of the shares.

For @fqm
Yes, Intel started getting mismanagement since Craig Barrett Became a CEO. When becoming Chairman and Otellinni became CEO, they missed mobile/flash businesses and laid off 10,500 employees.

The board will just shower him with praises on the cost cutting he is doing. Bunch of nitwits
Is the meeting definitely next week? I mean, the week after is also mid-September...
Pat will get another life. But we all know fate shall be determined when dice stops rolling, 18A that is
This isn’t solely on Pat, it’s on the last 5 CEOs. Don’t think he gets fired.
