Thread regarding Twitter layoffs

Tech should not be in the spotlight

What they call tech is nothing more than simple coding. Coding is not rocket science. Nor is it research. It is just basic logic that someone with a technical mind can do.

Are you not aware of the fact that Twitter has their own massive buildings with their own sever units in them? They require maintenance and constant monitoring. Twitter is not just about algorithms and programming, it is engineers and techs who have to physically repair servers.

They can write down detailed flowchart of their programs.

you do know how easy this is right? there are 12 year olds writing simple algorithms with zero formal education just like there were 12 year olds writing HTML and JS with zero formal education 25 years ago. yall need to get over yourselves. you aren't as smart or necessary as you think you are.

This logic why Amd has been ki----g Intel this last few years. AMD had a quick come up and invested it into their products before lining pockets.

AMD literally saved the gaming/editing industry and made it more cost productive for anyone to really get into.

You won’t find me using an Intel processor unless the program is specifically optimized and core clocked for Intel.

Very few people at these companies are real hardcore engineers who understand complex algorithms and systems. Probably 10%. The rest do mundane tasks that someone put through 6 months of training can do. The Indian companies such as Infosys are a prime example. They hire anyone with a degree and train them at their training facility for 6 months or so. If Intel can design an advanced microprocessor with 500 person teams why does a company like need 8700 people plus 5000 contractors. Musk may be onto something.

Not just coding. Top IT professionals don't just write programs. They also fully understand theory and algorithm behind. They can write down detailed flowchart of their programs.

My comment about how a Jr stack developer can make a Twitter clone got deleted here. This is why we developers need to decentralize all web apps
