Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel needs to make VSP available to everyone

If they don’t make VSP available to everyone the office will be filed with hostages begging to leave. If people decide to walk there won’t be any handoffs. This place is over and anyone who left is lucky.

They can’t. They can not afford all the VSPs they got. So convert them to ISPs where they have to pay nothing.

With all the vsp denials…… can they even afford to give isp packages?

What's the plan for us new folks when all of the old timers are leaving? How long does it take to rebuild a team?

Hey! Not all of us are in the cube surfing Facebook all day.
Sometimes it's in the lab or toilet.
Or, just to change it up, it's TikTok.

@yko+1ulyWkD7 OR you can accept a package and collect unemployment.

Ditto, I stayed, didn't take the ERP, Then found out almost everyone in my group took the ERP. So now I'm stuck with all their work.

I stayed, didn’t take retirement. Now so much of my lab and team are gone, I don’t want to do the damn job anymore. It’s messed up that my only choices are to quit or lay flat and get paid for 5 years of doing nothing.

Not true
For the geos offered, if one is outstanding or got promotion was not eligible for vsp. But not restrictions on ERP

One can always leave volunteerily. Just no package or unemployment

@qta Wrong, VSP was not offered to my group.

VSP was offered to everyone, Intel still has to run a business and BU groups decide who goes. It's Intel who sets the rules if you don’t like it quit

I worked in 4 different groups across Intel over a 10 year period. You’re all already hostages. I’ve worked at 3 other engineering companies since then, every one has been significantly better. VSP or not I’d suggest leaving to anyone that isn’t just one of Intel’s many talentless cockroach “engineers” that hide in their cubicle surfing Facebook all day.

I'm not in agreement that the folks left are the lucky ones. They will be similar to the people left on the Titanic after the lifeboats are gone.
