@fk promotions are harder to come by at intel at as when you reach higher grade level , I’ve seen cases where folks reached to grade11 at 28years…. So please don’t compare grade level progress to individual progress…

Lip Bu wanted a 25% cut we have had a 15% cut so expect another 10% plus shutting down and consolidation of sites as well as cancelation of some projects. So we are looking at 11k job cut. This time the severance will be 1/2 of what it was previously and take just 2 months to execute not 6. Good luck brothers and sisters. Intel was great while it lasted 17 years for me took the package. At 56 Grade 9. Tough time finding a new role after sending 20 resumes out and 2 call backs. Lot of competition here in Portland, OR.

It is worthwhile to install an open rating system by the peers and subordinates to show where the bottleneck is in all levels of managers. An layoff based on the poor open rating results should be the least controversial and most beneficial for Intel.

  1. There are PE/Senior PEs"technical" managers who has less than 8 people and who hasn't had any significant patents in last few years! Basically these "PE" managers can't handle being Directors and so they 2nd level manager(Director) make them "PE" Managers! Especially in NEX/NXNE, there are layout mask designers becoming PEs/SeniorPEs/Fellows who are doing grade8/9 work! Massive GRADE INFLATION!
  2. TD/TMG/IFS/Atom/Xeon/CMO/Memory teams are massively bloated grade inflated Org (50% can be let go wo any impact to any products)! At least 50% of Dinosaurs with like Directors/PEs/SeniorPEs/Fellows shd be let go (If they were so good, why Intel is going bankrupt?)!
  3. H1b hiring, $nd$an nepotism/favoritism, DEI, brown nosing NEED TO STOP RIGHT NOW!
  4. Close Haifa, Kyriat Gyat, Folsom, Petach Tichva, Allentown need to close down. Oregon/Chandler need to be emptied out by 25% (there are lot of dinosaurs career politicians there).
  5. Nobody cares about CPU anymore. Atom/Xeon teans need to be SHUT DOWN!

Move those saved $$ to AI/GPU/6G etc and save Intel from bankruptcy!

  1. Caufield becoming ceo: false
  2. Elon musk acquisition : false
  3. Broadcom acquisition : false
  4. Join stake by nvidia/tsmc : false

Have faith , there will be reductions but not to point to cripple critical projects , it will be then looking at short term gains at expense of long term loss .. hope he doesn’t make this shortsighted decision to give stock price boost for a day ,
