Cramming us in

Work in 100 Magellan. This week, some of the common space/collaboration zones disappeared (big tables, couches). Cleared out just enough room on 3W to cram in 8 more desks between existing rows in a frw places. So I guess re-opening 200 to make room isn’t happening.

@h4 space is not going to magically appear on day 2 or day 200 either. Unless the point has always been to force attrition. That's the plan. Make the experience miserable. Unfortunately all the good people will leave because they can. Mediocre people, like me, who can't leave, will be left. There is a winning plan in there somewhere. IDK - its above my pay grade.

@gx - there was a leader speaking at a townhall/all-hands the other day and said that things might not go perfectly the first day we get back. Why do I have the expectation that I will either be driving home because there is no parking space or sitting on the floor due to lack of seating. I don't have a problem with coming in because I live close, but the planning has been terrible and when you get the message from leadership that they aren't sure how it is going to go, just show up and see what happens, that's not very reassuring.

@fj the Durham office is installing a fence to keep people from parking on the grass. It's going to be chaos when everyone is back.

@OP get ready for another Reddit parking on the grass video, etc, showing how bad it is on the first workday in September when everyone is in there. I’m taking video in the cafe to document for fire safety reasons. I will be reporting any violations to the city and OSHA.

Come September - you might have seat, you might not, we don’t know until you get here because we are a financial institution but we can’t count.

Not everyone is working, dinosaurs can be found enjoying life sitting on top of the sweat shop workers, you can spot the dinosaurs playing pickleball and enjoying life just by networking talking stories from 20 years back, whole performance appraisal is applicable only for grade 4/5 where newbies slug it out with their dinosaurs cousins/ kids/ girl friends. Welcome to the new age of dinosaur feeding frenzy

Sounds like a great work environment, it sounds like the sweatshops where everyone is working shoulder to shoulder. How professional.
