  • microsoft has over 6300 h1b visa requests out
  • most offering around 80% of the median salary for those roles
  • it looks like they’re cutting u.s. workers only
  • theyre replacing them with cheaper labor under the h1b system
  • there is nowhere to hide
  • replacement in progress

a few '000s were laid off in Jan, with a smaller cut in June, putting the total around 18k so far. assuming a few more thousand are cut by the end of the year, we’re likely looking at around 20k total layoffs by year’s end...

6300 H1B requests.

It's not AI, it's just a replacement.

Azure growth is stalling and GOOG cloud is on track to pass them, while ai capital costs are massive and only getting bigger. xbox continues to underperform as usual. satya’s go-to move is pre-meditated layoffs—he pulls the trigger even when revenue and stock are solid, as soon as internal metrics start to slip.

it’s frankly exhasting how the layoffs just keep coming month after month. first january, then may, then a few hundred more after the 6k, and now this. it really feels like they want people to stay anxious and overworked just to avoid being next.

sooo, less than 2mo ago they cut 6k people. They had to know more layoffs were coming, so why not just do it all at once? Do they really think it looks better to do rolling cuts instead of being upfront and ripping the bandage off???? Well...

Satya has basically turned Microsoft into a second-rate Amazon.

He scored some early wins with cloud, but now that the market's saturated, he's out of moves. The only way left to hit that 10% growth target is through layoffs and offshoring.
