I called HR and they said equipment return has absolutely nothing to do with payout. They didn't even send my boxes until over 1 month after I got my payout

I emailed mine back and received my severance on the next pay period which was 2 weeks from my term date since I returned my severance agreement on the first day I could sign and send back. I highly suggest that you verify that they receive it by calling once sent. They will not contact you if the agreement is unreadable (This happened to my friend). You can't send your equipment until your supervisor or manager put in the request for them to send you boxes. I received my severance long before receiving the boxes to return my lap and long before my UHG paid internet was disconnected.

As long as the RIF'd individual sends back their laptop and stuff the severance is on time.

The letter and response said it could take 2-3 pay periods— which means 4-6 weeks after receipt of the signed severance agreement.
