Are your managers MIA too? Mine manager has been barely around lately (and they were not out much for the holiday and usually working, emailing us all the time, IMs, etc no matter what. They've been kind of non-existent since they got their annual review in Dec. Maybe they too got a rating they didn't like and hence a cr@ppy raise/bonus. Karma at it's finest. Lol.

@fj+1jgy444ez Sounds more like your manager got a cr-p rating and is nervous about security
My manager keeps showing up at the office, in zoom meetings, on teams chats. Is anyone else?
I am the opposite, my manager is super energized. When I came back from my vacation, he scheduled a meeting with me for the work progress on December and the first week of January. His expectation was for the entire team to work as diligently during december as it was any other month of the year. When he found out I was off for the last two weeks and just came back the day of the scheduled meeting, he was dissapointed that I did not make progress, so he then scheduled another tight deadline that I am used to by him to look into the requested info.
For me he is super energized because he probably had a good review and bonus lined up. This one is my speculation, the first one was my observation.
I am absolutely missing info. What new direction?? It is very quiet and I have noticed my manager, he seems to have checked out of the job. Figured it was holiday related but the atmosphere is very different.
Everyone is lying low until new direction is announced by the top management , who themselves are waiting for the new Administration to announce regulatory changes. So until then enjoy the peace and quiet :)
