Meritocracy never really existed at Intel. If it did Intel wouldn’t be in this state today.
Chr—sty just formally shut down meritocracy aka favoritism charade.

@fgc+1kYK0r09. Exactly. That's how BK implemented ACT2016 and led the company to today's state.
It's called 'at will' employment. If you don't like your pay package take a hike and go to another employer. And in case you haven't thought through this all the way think about it... Shareholders get paid if the company performs well. The shareholders are incentivized to give you raises if you are doing a good job and contribute. So stop the silly whining.
Right, Meritocracy at Intel has been dead a long time.
I remember getting "meets expectation" focal reviews for years that I really exceeded because there was only so much money in the bucket for pay increases, and others were ahead of me in line.
I also remember getting "exceeds expectations" even when I had a bad year, but it was my time for a pay increase. At least Intel was very generous with those.
Based on the latest sentiment out here there will be no pay increases at all for awhile, and everyone will be taking pay cuts for the foreseeable future. Shareholders come first, and that has never changed.
Meritocracy died a slow death after PSO took over. It was buried deep when BK took over.
when you tell a manager they can only have/fill a req if the hire is a DEI/URM then you are about as far away from meritocracy as one can get. word.
