CL28 and 29 Salary Range, time to go 28 to 29

I am trying to decide if I should resign or stay. If anyone can provide insight into salary range for CL 28 and 29 that would really help me out.

Very few employees will make it to CL-28 or -29 between now and 2035. Change your mindset to, I will be fortunate to make it to CL-27.

@12c agreed, thought they were trimming the fat for a few years, but they would like to ki-l the company entirely. Great how they say we are overpaid, who set those salaries!?

The good times are over and the writing is on the wall. Lots of us are getting no raises and told we are overpaid for what we do. They bring up our hourly billing rate which can be 450 per hour. Compare that with the btc billing rate at 40 to 80 per hour. There is no future at exxon anymore. Profits and shareholder return are all that matters.

The top bands of CL 29 can get to $450k.

The CL-28 and 29's will be bumped back to CL-27 when Global OP's is merged with EMTEC. They will not get a raise until they retire (assumes the CL-28/-29's will make it to 55 years old with 15 years of service)

So how about us lowly peasants in the Downstream? Do we get bumped up to these fancy high CL bands when we harmonize with Global OPs?

So what CL is it that you start getting crazy money? I thought it was 30?!

the bump to CL30 is usually very small when you are the top of the CL29 band ... i know this for a fact as I gave these raises out back in the day

Those salary ranges are meaningless for older staff. If you are 50+ you will be near the bottom of the ranking. Only gonna get worse. There is a reason they got rid of protected status for NREs.

All bands overlap. It is possible for a top 5-10% CL 28 to make more than a middle quintile CL 29 at the same YEE. Especially when total comp (RSU) is accounted for.

PS same with CL 29 and CL 30 bands. I know many CL 29 promoted to CL 30 lost their RSU and dropped in ranking because they did not rank well with other executives. A promotion to CL 30 is not necessarily a good thing and could get you PIP'd.

The ranges depend on your organization. For example, it’s lower in Finance vs Upstream.

I said top of CL28, not CL29. Apparently, HR conditioning is alive and well.

@ct did you mean top of CL29 is higher than 350 or does CL28 band really exceed 350?

The top of CL28 is higher than 350 for upstream engineers.

So if I was already a CL28 making toward the top end of the 300-350 range then I should expect very small raises until I hit CL30? Sounds like CL28 and 29 bands overlap?

300-350 plus some RSUs based on rank group

The better question is how likely will you get to 28. 29 is almost impossible now. 28 will likely be very limited for non-execs.
