Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Gotta love it..

The conditions in these offices are ridiculous.. Things are broken, vending machines aren't working, a abundance of ro--h traps, stagnant air from the ventilation system.. The list just goes on and on.. Now let's talk about how unfair the "politics" are within the offices.. Will you do more work, no recognition, and same/less pay? Yes.. Will people have less working hours and still get their same pay? Yes.. Are people looking for other jobs and just hoping this place shuts down? Absolutely..Are people WFH when we were told that's no longer an option? Yes... The "changes" thus far have been a joke and I'm sure it's only gonna get worse... When I say the morale and teamwork is horrendous, it's not an exaggeration.. Their is no possible way the "numbers" are gonna be anywhere close to how they want you to think they are.. This is def a sinking ship and people are ready to jump...

Management doesnt give a flying fig about how the employees feel.. They don't care how miserable any of us are.. They care about having bodies in the building, working on "teamwork and collaboration which nobody sees any of that, and loading up people with work that 3 people need to do with little or no compensation.. Reviews are coming and everyone knows that the percentage is gonna be s$it but they will tell you the numbers are fabulous... .. All we see is people miserable and upset and just counting down the days until they may be lucky enough to be laid off with a severance package...

@ff+1jkgzdyt7 Agreed 100%. Publicly, management lies about the numbers. They try to motivate by telling everyone how great everything is. They think you’re stupid. Behind closed doors, they’re panicked. Whenever the company has a bad month, which is now every month, my work week (and life for that matter) is a living hellhole. They demand explanations for every cent lost year-over-year. Uh, have you heard of Occam’s Razor? Customers are printing less, service levels have dropped significantly due to less staffing. Management can’t handle the truth. They are in denial.

“What? We’re down this month?! That’s impossible! More time in office means greater collaboration. More collaboration means more revenue. That’s what it said in the Harvard Business Review Journal article I read while my chauffeur drives me around and maid cooks me nice sushi dinner. I tell people we do good job, they get excited, they go work hard, me make money”

Oh Sammy boy, if you only knew…..

Anytime different teams have different rules implemented by that teams manager you’ll have problems. People do talk and it causes resentment amongst the workers. Some managers you would think own part of the company or maybe they running for the next biggest a--hole nomination whatever it is let’s not forget we are all on the same ship and show some care and humanity to your workers!

It’s disheartening to see that just not one location is affected by the company’s incompetence and non caring for their employees! But then again it makes you feel better knowing that we are all in the same boat whether it’s in Melville or any other location. The many changes in upper mgmt every time you turn around just to have another “Sammy” or “Kyle” give lengthy video recordings of themselves that are available in all kinds of languages when English isn’t one of them. WTF did you say? Subtitles could be an option but then again nobody gives a sh-t or watches that ego inflating garbage. Then you have jokes like PK and SF (where he been at lately?) give you over inflated numbers and bullsh-t “pep”speeches and expects ppl to be excited and go get it make the numbers only 1 million short let’s do this people! Nobody gives a sh-t! The life and enthusiasm to want to do great have left the building when loyal disposable employees due to their age were shown the door! The same loyalty shown to employees by canon is now reciprocated by the ones left! Karma is a bi--h and canon is not exempt from that!

Melville? If you want to see run down, go visit Denver, Albuquerque or any other Midwest locations. At least you have a bidet and heater seats in the restroom. Ours has a busted up wobble seat and broken fan - but that's ok because the Costco size coconut scent spray almost does the trick. Gotta love office days - fl-tulence Fred thinking for good reason no one else is here since there are no working lights.

Now let's get back to work before more good people get hurt

Can confirm that the morale is soul su-king. I left and the lift off my shoulders has been insane. The sad part is I loved my team and who I worked with. The top down dictatorship not so much.
