Some of you are so afraid of being laid off when we join Broadcom that you are gifting dozens of hours each week to the company in hopes of standing out. It won't matter. Nobody will care that you worked 80 hours last week when it comes to layoffs. How much you earn and what you do will. You're just gifting them your labor for no good reason.

"I'll slack you off, you fuzzy little foreigner ... and I'll fill your bagpipes with Wheatena!"
Bagpipes? Who's Scottish? Genuine Q.
Reality is a lot of meat need cutting, with or without Bcom.
"I work hard to impose my morality on others…"
Well, other white people anyway.
And, slacking off is not in my vocabulary.

Y'all are nobs. Honestly, who gives a s*it.
If you need an excuse to be lazy, go join the DEI team

Well I got a 50k retention bonus and appreciate it in these tough times so I'll do my best.

Maybe it's in yours?
Talk about toxic, how about the do your job bc that's what you're paid to do. You can only control certain things in your life, effort is one of them. If you need an excuse to be lazy, go join the DEI team.
I am amazed that many people I work with are going full steam ahead - extra hours, new projects, new buying and pricing programs being rolled out, more confusion. Maybe retention bonuses are motivating them but agree we won't have much of a say in what or who remains when this is all done.
It's important to realize that not only will the company not care about your extra hours, they won't even notice. When BC makes their decision, it will be based on some metric that you or I have no knowledge of, or control of. Extra hours won't even be noticed.
True story: About 5 years ago my department was 90% terminated. I was kept. Because I'm so good at my job? Nope, because I had transferred from a different department and HR hadn't changed my classification yet. And not knowing what to do, they kept me. It's a stupid reason, yes? But that's how this company operates.
I'm not sure that when the time comes, they will even consider performance. They may just sort employees by salary and sack the top half. Wouldn't surprise me.
@fdg+1mdpUuKL No, you!!!!
Your the one that's afraid. Posting sh@t like this.
