Hey HR, we know you read this site....

Let's start with 4 day work weeks between Memorial Day to Labor Day. You know most people don't get a ton done on Fridays anyway.

@fd Not a non starter, just shift coverage. Or is your team so understaffed that you only have 1 individual for a task and no one could do that job if they are off on Friday?

@an +1 for Fridays. Fewer meetings. Fewer unintelligent emails and calls. Get lots done.

4-day work week usually means 10 hour days, 40 hours a week. Market open on Friday's makes a 4-day work week a non-starter for most folks.

@f0 Pay commuters a stipend for their commutes and time. My work value doesn’t change because of a drive.

Also please reduce salaries of people who are remote by 25%.

OP here… I’m utterly shocked by the responses. I suppose it would be okay to allow the sycophants to opt out.

A lot of people ended up working zero days a week. Would you prefer that? If not then maybe you should just be grateful you haven't been on the chopping block. Yet.

Honestly, what kind of mo--n lobbies for working fewer days a week in a bad economy at a company that has been laying people off for the last two years.

Isn’t the market open on Fridays?

HR offers many benefits like PTO that can also be used for needed breaks. Not sure 4x week actually bumps up productivity, or we may be some time away from this “if” AI can assist resources or reduce the need for 40 hours to something less.

I’d rather ask HR to get us away from CVS Caremark and focus on 2-3 big benefits that are outstanding vs so many useless benefits for anything and everything. Just get some solid medical, pharmacy and dental… right now, not so great on the benefits side.

HR protects the company from labor litigation. They don't set hours or policy outside regulations. Friday is my most productive day. Given the stock price we aren't going to see better labor conditions.
