600+ laidoff after stopping PTO Rollover

Signed agreement in August not to sue company.
In Nov 2025 HR suddenly stopped PTO Rollover.
Jan 30th 2026 laidoff 600+ software engineer s across USA.
Heartbreaking! SE Andover never hired any engineer during covid.

@fa Our BU had layoffs too, but there has been no communication about the total qty, reasons, plan for coverage, etc.
Just a deafening silence from leadership that is feeding rumors and obliterating morale.

Shame, I used to think it was a good place to work.

Not sure where the 600 number came from but I can certainly confirm there was at least one layoff. I was laid off on the 29th without any notice whatsoever. “Position reduction”. I am very curious how many others were affected. They certainly use underhanded tactics - I was invited to a meeting with an assuming title by my manager who then invited HR and another person last minute. My manager didn’t have the decency to join after setting the ambush.

Curious where you got the 600+ number, haven’t been able to get any info on the extent yet.

I interviewed there about two years ago. Young person took call at 9 pm at night her time. I thanked her but she shrugged it off, saying she always worked odd hours.

Another mom seemed worried in my group interview after her young son interrupted briefly. I told her that as a mom, I understood. I saw the sour expression emerge on her boss's face and I realized he would never hire me. After all the talk about hiring women, I realized that the company culture operated like every other global company.
