I hope not, but I'm sure it would be in production already if management just let them cook

Look at this little band of self-righteous angels which have accumulated here.

Chyina has lied, cheated, and stole its way to where it is. The Republican Party, too.

If you can’t beat ‘em, join em. Or pick up their strategies and turn it on them. Just fu-kn win.

I don’t even work for Intel, and think some of these were jokes, but hey - some variant of this seems sensible enough.

@jr, I sure hope not because that guy who advocated pushing buttons is an id--t and not even close to representation of Intel employees.

@f9, so why don’t you volunteer for what you are advocating and go do that, then tell us when you are being prosecuted how it went.

Maybe you were just joking which I doubt but preferably you are not an Intel employee, if you are it’s a sad reflection on the type of people Intel has hired.

@fm... "Too low for any real production. Abandon it and move on to 14A or 10A altogether. "

What part of bet the company on 18A don't you understand. If 18A doesn't work on time Intel is done. The only part of you plan that right is "move on". Get your resume out there it is going to take a while in this job market.

wow, do all meetings inside of Intel devolve into this kind of planning? We are hopelessly lost and can't find our way back on our own... "hey, I've got an idea let's get someone to damage our competition..." Intel is way beyond repair.

Pushing buttons? Get real. I was with the guy who said to use Trump as a mafia hit man.

@hd, well that idea you came up with pushing buttons is as d-mb as you are.

@gj If you’ve got a better idea, Intel IS looking for a CEO…

Correct. Someone is low balling yields so that they can get a deal in a fire sale

Random Chinese dude on the internet:

"Yield late is verly verly bad"

Everyone on the internet: Intel is DEAD. HE-L YEEAH.

How much would intel pay someone to go to TSMC and just start pushing random tool buttons ?

@dc This is a winning strategy paired with a little insider sabotaging of TSMC machines.

Intel should pump the breaks burning cash on fabs and pay Trump to get his goons (no, not China) to kneecap TSMC for a few years. :-P

Anyone can buy a Ferrari or new FAB machinery. NOT everyone can drive it! Intel has wrapped 18A around a telephone pole.

Process yields save the day. Pat gambled it all on 18A. He failed, so Intel is going away. Now Pat’s in bed with BK. Hm, I better stop, that sounded g@y.

TSMC is worrying about its own life for a different reason, being robbed and dismentaled by US government to save Intel. Intel does not need anyone else to spread the bad words about it.

Done for Intel.
Pat gambled and made big bet for Intel. He took the money and already ran away.

@a6... like TSMC is worried about anything Intel does. Tell us about all of the great achievements that Intel has had in the past decade. Intel was actually in the foundry business back then and earlier yet there aren't any huge customers at all. In fact revenue in foundry has grown slower than the rate of inflation.

Nice quality photo in the article... they really couldn't find some hand model without a band-aid on their finger to to hold the die that they are showing.

I found that more shocking than the news about 18A yields.
